I feel for their fans, having to end a tradition that the vast majority of them have witnessed their entire lives due to a helium shortage. It makes you wonder if this has something to do with the economy?
I don't think this is too political, but if so feel free to remove. Here is a good article explaining some of the reasons for the shortage. Essentially it boils down to the fact that the US government had a monopoly on production since the early 1900s and now that they are trying to get out of the business the private companies aren't stepping up as anticipated.
