HAHA.  I literally saw that commercial for Pizza Hut, and said to my girlfriend, "That is the most shameless rip-off of "Gold on the Ceiling" I've ever heard.  The Black Keys are going to sue the Hell out of them."

Pat Carney will admit to anyone that asks that he's in it to make music, but also to make money, and that any musicians that say otherwise are lying.

He's pretty frank. The Urban Meyer of pop culture, if I may.

Maybe they will sing Carmen Ohio at their Michigan venues to counter the Chili Peppers little stunt...

Years ago Glenn Frey of Eagles said that they (Eagles) do their own publishing and licensing because they didn't want "Take It To The Limit" used in a tire commercial. Years later when the song became public domain it was...used in a tire commercial.

"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)

Buck I-8 is right. I read a tweet from Patrick Carney where he was discussing Spotify and how little musicians actually make from it. He's definitely in tune with the business side of music.

Nice of him to be honest haha. I can't speak for Dan, as I've never met him, but Pat is all business.
