I'll be here in Columbus for most of the summer working. Besides Clippers baseball and Crew games, what are other events going on in the Columbus area over the summer that I should check out? I'll be in town until July 20 (tenatively). Also, I'll be living on campus and I won't have a car so anything close by would be really helpful. Thanks!

Comfest immediately comes to mind

If you like live music, you should check out The Spikedrivers and/or The Floorwalkers.
The Spikedrivers play frequently but I prefer their 1x a month gig at Rumba Cafe (Summit/Hudson intersection on campus) because it's a Thursday happy hour show from 630-9pm.
Gallery Hop. Most fun in the city, in my opinion. First Saturday of every month, the Short North's galleries stay open until 9-10, and the entire neighborhood comes to life. Excellent selection of bars, cheap eats, more expensive fare and street food await. Not to mention the people watching...oh yes the people watching. Catch the deuce and hop a ride down south High Street and you'll be in business.
Also, the Ohio Theatre does a summer movie series of old movies--if you're into that kind of thing. It's always fun--and they'll typically throw in some cult films, as well. Speaking of which, the recently-renovated Studio 35 does Rocky Horror twice a month, and offers 40 beers on tap. They also show first run movies there, as well. If you can get out there, the Drexel Theatre in Bexley shows The Room once or twice a month, it's the Citizen Kane of bad movies, and well worth a watch.
If you like bar hopping, check the Short North and Arena District. You'll find a lot of good stuff there. Some recommendations, Betty's and Press Grill in the Short North, Dirty Frank's Hot Dog Palace downtown, and Flat Iron Bar and Grille in the Arena District.
If you go to the event calendars at Experience Columbus (http://www.experiencecolumbus.com/event-calendar.cfm) and Columbus 200 (http://200columbus.com/events/) and enter a range of dates, you're going to find hundreds of events to choose from this summer. A few highlights that I try to attend every year:
Red, White, and Boom on July 3rd
North Market Food & Ohio Wine Festival (July 13th, 14th, and 15th)
Picnic with the Pops Series
Columbus Jazz & Rib Festival
German Village Haus und Garten Tour
Gordon Gee's signature is on my diploma. I'm proud of that. Class of 2008
Get a ride to the Memorial if you like golf (I think that's right around finals though?).
Check out http://promowestproductions.com/ for concerts at the Newport, LC, Basement, etc. just depends on what kind of music you like.
http://www.columbusconventions.com/calendarofevents.php should have the events at the convention center.
If none of the stuff above intrigues you, you can always mow my lawn.

Irish Festival in Dublin is pretty cool too
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
cruise the 4-H chicks, late nite pitch and putt, throw stuff off the bridge.......

Don't think a date has been announced yet but I think "Friday Night Lights" will be in mid/late July. Not sure if you'll still be in town then but it is possible.
In terms of bar hopping if that is your thing I would recommend (if you can get down there) World Of Beer and High Beck Tavern in the Brewery District. On campus Mad Mex has a pretty good happy hour IMO. Half price drafts and wings. For a mexican restaurant they have surprisingly good wings.
^Mad Mex has good food, but horrid service.
watch the baseball bucks. a couple of legitimate studs on the team. get on the bandwagon before it gets full in the next 2 or 3 years. plus, newly-dedicated nick swisher field is as pretty a diamond as it gets.

Red white and boom obviously too bad you will leave before the fair in Aug.
Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! I'll definitely try to take advantage of as many as I can before I go back home to Texas for a few weeks.
It's true... We really are a bunch of nuts!
