Going to Indy

Hey everyone,

I'm heading to Indianapolis for the B1G Women's Basketball tournament in Indianapolis for Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio and I just wanted to get some recommendations from people. We'll be there on Wednesday night  until Sunday (hopefully, depending on how OSU fares in the tourney). Any good places to eat that won't break the bank? Recommendations for things to see or do would also be appreciated. Our hotel is in downtown so that works out well. It will be my first time in Indy and I'm excited to go, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how much free time you have but there are a few museums downtown that are worth the time.  The Eiteljorg and Indiana State Museum are both cool.  The NCAA Hall of Champions is also downtown.

Although you said you don't want to break the back, St. Elmo's Steakhouse is world famous and definitely worth the money. A shrimp cocktail app and 10oz. filet will set you back about $65.  Scotty's Brewhouse is reasonably priced and has excellent food and an awesome beer selection.  Get some Gumballhead and thank me later.  If you want to get out of the city, go to Gray Bros. cafeteria in Mooresville.

There is Circle Center Mall located downtown and it has some good stores.  Depending on the weather I like to walk along the Canal.  Good views of the city.

3 wise guys brew pub in broad ripple is owned by Scotty. Best pizza in town and beer is brewed on site for all of the Scotty's other restaurants. Afterwards you can head out to one of the many bars on 62 nd st. The whole area reminds me of a mini old high street from back in the day. Try the double IPA at wise guys you will not be disappointed and you can pick up a 6 of gumball head to go for 11.99 at the bar for your room. Downtown St. Elmos is world class as said previously. Fogo de chao is an awesome brazilian steak house close to scottys downtown. However, if you want to go cheaper the Ram is good and reasonable and slippery noodle is a famous blues establishment with good eats definitely a must is you like great music.
