Sam Bruce, a former Ohio State target and the highest-rated member of Miami's 2016 recruiting class, was dismissed by head coach Mark Richt on Monday morning for "multiple violations of team rules."

Bruce, a former four-star recruit, left his high school, St. Thomas Aquinas, earlier this year after a photo surfaced of him brandishing a gun during an ongoing dispute with another Aquinas student over Bruce's ex-girlfriend.
Miami also suspended Bruce for the Hurricanes' first three games before he broke his leg playing pickup basketball. Bruce was expected to miss the entire 2016 season regardless.
