After being a highly sought-after graduate transfer this summer, Everett Golson ended Florida State's season as a backup quarterback and will now miss the team's bowl game.

As first reported by the Palm Beach Post's Tom D'Angelo, Golson did not make the trip to the Peach Bowl. Sean Maguire stepped in for an injured Golson and eventually usurped him as starter after the Seminoles' wild loss to Georgia Tech. The Notre Dame transfer threw 52 touchdown passes in his three years as a quarterback at the collegiate level.

Our thoughts are with Golson as he copes with a death in the family.
