Jim Harbaugh broke his arm in his first meeting with Michigan State as a player. This Saturday, he'll meet the Spartans for the first time as a head coach.

He'll be going against some history, too.

From MLive.com:

Despite holding an 68-34-5 edge in the all-time series, dating back to 1959, six straight Michigan coaches have lost their first game against Michigan State. From Bump Elliott to Brady Hoke, each opened his U-M coaching career with a loss to Spartans. The last coach to earn a win in his debut against MSU was Bennie Oosterbaan, who earned a 13-7 victory on Sept. 25, 1948.

That was 67 years ago.

Michigan hosts Michigan State Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
