Alabama Football Apparently Died After a Two-Loss Season

Nick Saban's 2013 dreams were gone in a second.

Then, when he woke up from the nightmare of the Kick Six, Bob Stoops and Oklahoma ran a bulldozer over him.

But that was last year. This is now. The time for the resurrection of Alabama's football identity is upon us:

And whom better to lead a resurrection than somebody whose career arc/results ratio would lead you to believe he was divinely protected?

I'm ready to entertain the thought that Saban's best days are behind him.

Interesting take. Saban has "peaked" twice - LSU and Alabama. What would have happened if he went to Texas?

Is a similar thing happening with Coach Bill Belichick?

Tom Brady can only do so much for Belichick; without Brady, the Pats are roughly the same as the Browns teams he coached in the 90's.

I hear this... In some respects Saban is in a certain arc in his career similar to Bobby Bowden in the 90s with Florida St.  Everything comes to an end.

Kiffin didn't cure Tennessee or Southern Cal, I'm not sure what you're asking.

I was just stating that they hired him to 'cure all'. Obviously, he didn't. Ooor we can just consider them 'nobodies'. That works too. Heh

Good spread teams can exploit Saban's defense. Hence his crying about the need for rules changes for the "safety" of the players.

Sounds to me like Saban has been spending a lot of time crying about rules changes instead of adapting to the natural evolution of the game (an evolution Urban got rolling in CFB like ten years ago). Meanwhile Urban is getting his defensive personnel right, his defensive coaching staff right, and his defensive philosophies right (I know last year's defense was a dumpster fire but its changing drastically as we speak).

I hope Saban keeps his old line thinking and doesn't evolve so we can kick his ass in the upcoming CFB Playoffs!
