Eastern Michigan Installing Gray Turf

Boise State has their famous blue turf. Eastern Washington has their lesser-known red turf. Soon, Eastern Michigan will have... gray turf?

From Freep.com:

Eastern Michigan will hold a news conference today to announce it will switch to a gray field in Rynearson Stadium, according to two people familiar with the decision. They requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly before the announcement.

Like Ramzy, I think some scarlet endzones would tie the whole thing together. And before you think we're joking...

I just worry it might be hard to see the white lines on the field clearly if you're on gray turf. Can you imagine if it snowed even a little? Trying to know where you are on a gray field with white lines and a little snow would be a disaster.

Well their colors are green and gray, so why not just install some green turf.

Looks pretty desolate to me.

If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.  ~ Bruce Lee

Ugh.  The NCAA needs to institute a rule like the NFL that says all playing surfaces must be natural grass color.  The Boise blue field and  Fresno with that awful red field are eye cancer.

Hate the blue turf. I refuse to watch a Boise State game just because of that. I turn my head when I'm at that bar and they show BSU highlights. When I'm at home, I change the channel. That's how much I like blue turf.

Another smurf turf hater here. Watching their games causes actual physical pain; so I refuse to do so.

I'm sure the grey field won't be nearly as bad, but who wants to look like you're playing in a parking lot?

When it comes to that field, there's a lot of gray area.

What will the other directional _ichigan schools do in response?  Central and Western have to do something to stay relevant.

Off the subject some, my nephew grew up in Michigan and just graduated from Western and is a big OSU fan. He told me he frequently wore OSU clothing on Western's campus because he could.

I've done the same thing for the past four years here at Illinois (grad school) and not once has anyone given me flak.

Look at my alma mater balling out! I'm down for this, they need all the help they can get to not just create buzz but their own identity being all of 7 miles away from the maize and blue
