It's a tale many of you have heard before. A man gains new found fame and glory, only can't handle the pressure and demands, and quickly succumbs to substance abuse.

The latest chapter in this book is (now former) New Mexico State offensive line coach, Chris Symington.

Symington was hired on May 9th, and he appeared ready to dive-in head first. From the hiring release from New Mexico State:

“I’m absolutely fired up about coming to New Mexico State as the offensive line coach. I can’t wait to get to Las Cruces and get to work."

Now let's fast forward to yesterday. From The Las Cruces Sun-News:

The New Mexico State University football team is again looking for an offensive line coach after its most recent hire resigned Wednesday, following a pair of criminal citations this week involving an addiction to huffing.

Las Cruces police cited Chris Symington twice in a four-day span for huffing compressed air, the second incident unfolding Tuesday morning inside the bathroom of a Las Cruces drug store, according to a police report obtained by the Sun-News.

Symington and his wife told police Tuesday he's suffering from an addiction and that they were returning to Pueblo, Colorado, to place Symington into rehab, the police report states.

All kidding aside, I'm shocked people are still huffing compressed air canisters. I thought the creepy kid in my high school art class was "the last Mohican" in that regard.

Best of luck to Chris Symington; getting caught huffing (for the second time in four days) in a drug store bathroom and tanking your career is probably a sign you need to get some things in order.
