Texas A&M to Have Largest Scoreboard in College Football, Largest Stadium in the SEC

There's an ancient Chinese saying: "Everything is bigger in Texas." But I'm not sure if even Sun Tzu could have foreseen the rise of ridiculously-big scoreboards.

The Cowboys have their scoreboard, the largest in the world. Texas A&M, however, won't be too far behind. When their $450 million renovation of Kyle Field is complete in 2015, they'll have the largest scoreboard in college football and the largest stadium in the SEC.

Kyle Field, post-renovation

If you're wondering where all this money is coming from, A&M smashed a fundraising record last year with $740 million (or a light Tuesday afternoon's work, as it's known to E. Gordon Gee). Such are the perks of a good football team, I suppose.

Do they know Johnny Douchebag left for the NFL?

It's going to be a shame when they can't fill the stadium while going 4-8 without Johnny Football

Is that a UFO hovering above the stadium?

You got the new video board in the Texans' stadium built last year to exceed the one in Jerry"s world, now this one.  This will only have the Longhorns set to respond.

Go Bucks and michigan STILL SUCKS!

While all the teams in Texas compete for a scoreboard title, we will be winning games.

It will never cease to amaze me just how much a great football team will get people to open their wallets.  $740 million in one year is astounding.  If they can do it, good for them.

A&M is so cute by trying to be relevant.

They'll need a big video screen to distract the fans from what's happening on the field next year.
