[grabs tissues]

“ ‘Overbearing’ is a really good word,” said Purdue fan Lowell Bittenger, an actuary in Carmel. “I work with a lot of Michigan fans and another guy that is a big Ohio State fan. They agree it’s insufferable.”

Chad Sisk, a 2007 Purdue grad from Greenfield, is suffering, too.
“Between that and Notre Dame being good in football, it’s been a tough year,” he said. “For a diehard Purdue fan, this has been the sports year from hell.”

BOILER UP *choo choo* BOILER UP *choo (sputter) choo* BOIL- [train derails]

[lots of screaming]

[Victor Oladipo repeatedly jumps back and forth over the wreckage while dunking]

[Aaron Craft steals all the train's booty]

[Michigan shows up wearing its nuclear banana tights and blinds everybody]

...cheer up, Purdue. At least Michigan State saved you from even more suffering.

He should take comfort in knowing that unlike M*chigan, Purdue didn't lose to Penn State.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

This article speaks the truth. I live just south of Indianapolis and the fans here are brutal. Listening to ESPN Radio on the way home from work is always such an enlightening experience. I have learned from the IU fans that call in to the show(s) that IU has never actually lost a game; they might have beaten themselves once or twice, but to even suggest they haven't been #1 for the entire history of mankind is treason...
And then of course us lucky Indiana people get to listen to Dakich...who I actually don't mind as much as many others, but lately he has been the biggest Tom Crean apologist and I absolutley can't stand it.

Good comments, theshookster. I agree.
In regards to Dakich though, I differ a little. I haven't watched every Buckeye b-ball game this season, but the one's I've watched that he was doing, he seems to be very "pro-Buckeye" to me in his in game analysis and bias. Just my perception.

I think he just calls it like he sees it, and I really don't mind him either.  I won't say he's pro or anti- OSU, but during the last game against Illinois, I heard him say 3 times how Aaron Craft gets away with more fouls than anybody in the country.  I obviously disagree, and think he confuses hard nosed in-your-face D and  quick hands with body fouls.  Craft is the best on the ball defender I've ever seen.  OSU should literally have tapes of him for future players to watch.  Or even retain his dad as a consultant.  Great D goes a long way.

This is some seriously bad juju to be posting before a potential big ten tournament matchup.  11w staff, throw some salt over your collective left shoulder.

^ This can apply to SO many things Purdue related...
The Heart of Dallas Bowl vs. Oklahoma St.
Danny Hope's tenure
No good football teams since Drew Brees left
The hoops haven't been the same since Gene Keady retired
Holy Buckeye
Kenny Guiton's heroics
I could probably go on with this list but who has that kind of time?
So yeah, Purdue athletics = trainwreck

My best friend is a Purdue grad-and would have been my roomate at PU had OSU not been the better fit for me. Each and every year I hear about Indiana\Purdue rivaling OSU\Michigan, and each year I hear how this incoming class Purdue has is going to be a nightmare in 2 years, and each year I hear about how Painter is the pristine image of college hoops while Matta is some sort of back room deal making sheister. Each year Ohio State has their way with Purdue, it gets met with "Ya, well OSU is dirty". I'll give him credit, he doesn't think much of Purdue football and is aware where they fall in the pecking order, but its years like this that make it all worth while.

Do I come off as arrogant? Shame on me, I was hoping it would more obvious.

In all fairness, PU has given our football team fits in recent years.  That's tough to swallow because they suck.

I think if you're a Purdue fan, you just curl up in the fetal position in a dark room and mumble "Drew Brees, Drew Brees, Drew Brees, Drew Brees" over and over to yourself while you wait for something respectable to happen again.

And then shout" Moley, Moley, Moley, Mole."

I laughed way too hard, to be sitting here at work......thank you

Gotta love the comments section with the IU fans and Purdue fans going after each other along with a couple references to OSU fans being "the most arrogant fanbase ever" and the like.

They're not IU, ND or scUM, so I don't mind the Boilermakers.

My grandfather (bless him) would'be agreed, especially the drink variety.
