Men's Hockey Scores a Huge Win at Miami
It's always fun to beat Miami in hockey, especially when they're the nation's No. 3 team:
Behind 29 saves from senior Brady Hjelle, the Ohio State men’s hockey team shut out No. 3-ranked Miami, 3-0, Friday in Steve Cady Arena in Oxford, Ohio. The line of junior Alex Szczechura and sophomores Tanner Fritz and Max McCormick paced the team with six points, as Szczechura and McCormick each had a goal and an assist and Fritz had two assists.
The Buckeyes (14-14-7, 13-9-5-1 CCHA) and RedHawks (21-9-5, 16-7-4-4 CCHA) will close the series, and the regular season, at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in Oxford. The Buckeyes’ Friday night win, along with a Ferris State loss, puts Ohio State alone in fourth place in the CCHA standings, three points ahead of the Bulldogs. The Buckeyes can clinch home ice in the quarterfinals of the CCHA tournament with at least one point Saturday vs. the RedHawks.

Do hockey players leave college early to go pro? I know most are affiliated with pro squads while they're playing collegiately, but I'd like a bit more insight on what the trend is here.
Many do leave early. The Blue Jackets Jack Johnson is one of hundreds who left college early to go to the NHL.
This is great. I just caught part of the replay on STO and it makes it harder for them to win the regular season title along since Western Michigan is up there. Hopefully we can get a bye in the CCHA tourny! Great job Buckeyes!
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
Nice job ice guys! Good luck heading into the playoffs.
