The way this came to be has to be irritating for Oregon fans. Kelly looks to be headed to the NFL, then decides against it, claiming a desire to remain with the ducks. I imagine this excited the fan base, but he runs off a few days later. What?

The rumor last year when Kelly flirted with taking the Tampa Bay job was that they would promote their OC to HC. I wonder if that's still the plan?

Rumors were that Kelly wanted guarantees from Oregon that if he were to leave, Helfrich, the current OC, would get the job. Then he returned, obviously, after accepting Tampa's offer and possibly not hearing what he wanted from the Oregon administration.

I believe he still wants the same, and I thought I'd read from several stories that it was basically a foregone conclusion that Helfrich would get the job should Kelly leave this time around.
