The team looked really solid overall. Bobrovsky outperformed Rinne and Anisimov came up big time. Tyutin and Nikitin were great last night, and Foligno and Dubinsky all made their presence felt as well. The new guys played well, and Nash only had an assist and a penalty last night. All is right in the world.
They should be better this year, they really did get a pretty good package for Nash and Columbus has some intriguing young players. They won't make the playoffs but don't expect them to finish last in the west.
In a normal season I wouldn't expect them to challenge for a playoff spot, however in this shortened season they could sneak in with an 8 seed. Also this shortened season is going to gas a lot of teams, and the Blue Jackets are the youngest in the league, with a lot of their guys having played in the AHL and KHL during the lockout. They're fast, and physical, but will lack offensive firepower. They're going to be a tough out for anyone this season.
Yeah that's true, one of the bigger problems with the Jackets though is the division that they play in. If they get in than you are basically saying every team in the Central gets in.
Oh the Central is packed. The Blues, Blackhawks, Predators and Red Wings are playoff-level teams. However, with this shortened season, an old team like Detroit could get left out. This season is going to be all about goaltending and conditioning.

enjoy this while it lasts
Hockey!
this is so awesome.
I like football
I'm not even going to ask.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
The "conference games only" schedule screws them for the 24 road games considering how close basically all the eastern conference teams are.
In Columbus? I didn't know they still had a team!
I was convinced I was dreaming when I watched this game, but apparently not
A solid 1-game win streak! Way to go jackets
Felt pretty damn good watching my Bruins put a beat down on the Rangers.
Last season it took the Jackets an entire month to win a game. They even have a chance to beat the Red Wings/Dead Wings tomorrow night.
Solid gold.

Playoffs!?!? Don't talk about...playoffs?
Good start to the season, though. One game obviously doesn't prove much in terms of playoff prospects, but I saw some things that I like.
