You used fair and NCAA in the same sentence.  I just spit coffee all over my monitor.

When does the 36 game season start? More football for all of us to enjoy!! (I took the same math for Marines class, no worries!!)

Accept $1,600? Lose 25% of your season. We're sure this sounds fair to Devier Posey.

NW Buckeye's picture

These are basketball players.  They lose 25% of their season.  Posey lost over 50% of his football season.

CincyOSU's picture

Posey had TWO infractions which led to his extended sentence(tat-gate and the issue with his summer job).

NW Buckeye's picture

Posey received 5 games (41%) of the season for similar infractions.  You are correct about the tatoo suspension being served first.

CincyOSU's picture

Technically he received 4 games, with a 5th added because they lied to investigators. Either way, kind of excessive both for OSU's players was well as IU's.

That's what happens when you make assumptions, you get the facts wrong. I didn't read the article and assumed it was about football. My mistake and please accept my apologies.

Brutus's picture

If these were infractions by football players, the punishment would be making them play, not suspending them.

NW Buckeye's picture

No problem, I'm still dreaming of a 36 game football season!!!!   Would sure make the off season a lot shorter...  LOL

USMC11917's picture

It isn't a big deal but and I know it isn't the end of the world but a down vote for an apology? Humorous...

+1 on both posts

Although now that I have looked at your picture, I'm not so sure I should have done that ; )

All in fun. I respect every branch of the service and appreciate every man/woman that serves their country.

actually they accepted $6,000 and $8,000 respectively not $1,600...for some reason they only have to pay back like $1,500 and $250 respectively and only get 9 games....these dudes should be suspended for half the season and Indiana should get at least some sort of probation again considering it was an IU booster...oh let me guess, "Crean didnt know"

johnblairgobucks's picture

Tom Crean didn't know that when making over $2,000,000/year you should pay at least $10 for a haircut

Is he going super saiyan?

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

I thought they changed the rules about a coach's plausible deniability?  I guess it isn't in effect yet.

It is in effect for any violation that occurred after it was passed.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure of the timing between the two events.

How on earth is that all that comes from this?  Some pitiful fines and a half @ssed suspension during turd farmer early season games?  Get Real.

I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

buckeyeEddie27's picture

Someone should really say something to Crean.  That is just,  ...just terrible.

I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

North Dakota State
Sam Houston State
Georgia
Georgetown/UCLA (tourney opp TBD)
Ball State
North Carolina (ACC/B1G Challenge)

They will be able to return to play Butler 12/15

Isn't that convinient timing. For what it's worth, I hope Butler beats them.

If the information in the linked article is correct, the players didn't deserve any suspension or punishment for their supposed transgressions. According to the article, they are the guys adopted kids, he bought them laptops and clothes and food, etc which would be legal in its own right, but since he bought alumni bumper stickers over the course of a few years he is a booster meaning it is against the Rules. #SMH
