Fox's coverage of the BCS over the last few years has gone from abysmal to mediocre, but at this point I'm on board with any sort of competitor. Clearly NBC Sports can't get it done, maybe Fox Sports can.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
They really need to upgrade their on air talent. I like Eddie(I'm a complete OSU homer), but they need to get rid of Erin Andrews. She is useless to me, and passed her use by date(I'm not trying to be sexist and say she is getting old and that older women have no place in tv. I'm saying her charm has worn off and needs to be put out of our misery.)
With that said, yeah espn needs some competition and good on fox for trying.
I am sure I will get crushed for saying this, and I understand the anger over ESPN's perceived bias, but Fox's dancing robot coverage is the worst I have ever seen/heard. Not to mention the on air talent... ugh, I can't take it. Sorry, but I would rather have a monopoly ESPN.
As long as they are reporting and not making news I'm good with it. Hopefully two top tier sports channels will not fuel sensationalized journalism for ratings...
"As long as they are reporting and not making news"
This. All of this
if Fox sports can make it through a whole newscast with out it feeling like a love letter to tebow, 6, the red sox, yankees i will be a happy camper. i know i am missing some of the motherships favorite topics but i havent watched them outside of games since 6 jumped ship.
Exactly. And, they already have ties to the league, as I believe each conference network has some type of partnership or a part ownership by Fox.
Even if the B1G jumped ship to Fox, it would only be for conference games and home non-conference games, I would imagine. There's still the possibility of appearing on ABC/ESPN for road non-conference appearances, much like we see with ND. Home games = NBC. Road games normally = ABC/ESPN.
It would be an interesting move, that is for sure...

I would not have a problem with the B1G taking it's media rights completely to FOX in 2017.

I would. Recruits watch ESPN. Even if Fox network blows up, at best it"ll be 50-50. I want everybody watching our highlights.
Our highlights would still be on ESPiN. They show highlights from all sports outlets every day.

THIS JUST IN: SEC Network to rebrand themselves as "Speed Network"
If they'd only decided on the "Weed Network", Honey Badger would still be at LSU.

Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...

The idea of not having to watch ESPN and Mark May for college football news is intriguing.
All they would have to do is focus on the B1G and Pac-12. They would hit with a huge market right there.

Hope they keep the F1 coverage.
