gotta love him..but that is simply not good.
I can't believe that there aren't any linebackers on the team that aren't better than Boren. These guys were heavily recruited, and the defense is getting lit up anyways, so why not see what they can do?
To be fair, tackles don't accurately measure how good a defensive player is.

I'm honestly not surprised. I really don't know what that says about me or about this defense.
Yeah, I saw him miss a few and look out of position. But, it was his first game at linebacker. I better not write anything else about this game tonight!

That was like watching a slap fight between two third grade girls. Zach stepped in when he was asked to. Give the guy a Buckeye sticker. I'm now officially worried about the rest of the year. What a difference a week makes.

I'm not so worried. One thing we have consistently done this year is play to our competition. The D got caught taking plays off. I don't think this will happen again. Am I worried about the depth and the progression? Sure, but I'm not ready to call it a big bag of suck just yet. I think the D comes out big next week--we have the talent and the coaching and now after this embarrassment we'll get the drive and determination to go with it.

Our _efense just really sucked all around last night. The front played good, but still did not put enough pressure on the QB. This gave him too much time to throw. This also makes the LBs and DBs look bad because it is hard to cover someone when the QB has that much time to throw. Everyone knew what to expect from IU, so I have to give the coaches a minus for preparation and motivation. Coming off a big win over Neb. there may have been reason for a little let down, but last night was more than a little. Regroup and get ready for Saturday.

Was he that good, probably not. Did he individually have a good game though?
He was definitely in on a lot of plays. I don't know how to judge a guys performance when he hasn't played the position for years. I think when you put it in perspective, he kicked a$$.

It is very hard to judge when everyone else around him seemed to be very mediocre. I wonder if he played for a great defense if his lack of experience would of showed up a lot more.
If we had great linebackers at this point in the season I doubt we'd be having this conversation. Boren wouldn't play on a great defense. I think he played extremely well under the circumstances.
