The crazy thing is that they're one of the best collegiate marching bands outside of Ohio State's. Though, they're a dance band, and less like the traditional marching band that OSU is. Still, I remember seeing them my freshman year and being severely underwhelmed by their lines.
I'm sufficiently underwhelmed. There was maybe one marching sequence and then standing in lines, bouncing around, and hearing trumpets yell at me. It's sad when the most impressive part is being able to stay in lines between the marked yard lines (which is Marching 101). They can do better than that. OU's band is not my type at all.
I understand supporting teams from Ohio, but I'm guessing that none of you have worn an Ohio State shirt on their campus? The support doesn't go both ways.
I lived there for quite a long time. Originally from Columbus and wore buckeye t- shirts/ hoodies etc. I never once had anything but an "O-H!!!" Or a "go bucks" remark...
Well then maybe I'm the rare incident cause I wore a buckeye shirt on OU's campus. OS Who? was probably the nicest greeting I heard but that was a lot better than the beer tossed at me while I was walking. I hope it was just a few students doing it but it definitely gave me a different opinion of OU.

Well done!
I really do enjoy watching OU do well at everything! They don't have the 'chip on the shoulder' mentality that UC does with everything
I support OU as long as they are not playing OSU. Their band makes me appreciate just how great tbdbitl really is.

In '08 though, their performance (musically) here blew TBDBITL out of the water, lines or no. An our lines aren't the best all the time either.
I also tend to think OU is much more entertaining to watch.* Just recall that awful Titanic performance from 06 or 07.
*Caveat: I am a former band geek from an OU-style HS, so I am biased.

Ahh, I was a band geek at a school that was a strict corp-style (OMEA), which I think is vastly superior to OSU's style, as well.
You go to Graham? That's the only one that I was really aware of in Ohio; St. Paris might have one, as well.
That'd be the one, Hodge (St. Paris is Graham). Going for alumni band at Homecoming next Friday!

Also, there are a few others modeled after OU (forget them off the top of my head, believe Conneaut is one), but Graham's been doing it the longest.

I remember seeing them in ~'05 I think; they were a non-competing band at the Hilliard Invitational that year...incredibly good.
That was after my time. It was always loads of fun, which is why I go back for Homecoming.

Awesome!
It's true... We really are a bunch of nuts!
Go Bucks!

I saw this yesterday, absolutely fantastic. I shared it for all my friends and family on FB too!!
Sorry ladybuck, I disagree with your sentiment :)

Same. I did a masters there and never heard anything but positives when I was out on campus with Buckeye gear on.
