wow ... hmm, if FSU wanted to cover this spread --- they certainly could. Okie State beat Savannah State last week something like 84-0, and Okie State called off the dogs beginning at the end of the 1st quarter. I have the Okie State RB in my CFB fantasy league, so I was watching some of this game online, and Okie State could have named their score. It easily could have been 100+ to 0. They couldn't help but to destroy SSU.
I actually think the better play would be Oklahoma vs. Florida A&M. Oklahoma looked pretty average last week, and that shouldn't happen 2 weeks in a row. Florida A&M is not a strong team to begin with, and they just had 4 players suspended the other day: 2 of them being their best WR & best DB, (WR Lenworth Lennon & CB Devontae Johnson.) If that line is anywhere below Oklahoma - 49 ... I'd take the Sooners. They should be up 40-something to 0 at halftime.
Normally, when I see huge spreads, I go and bet the dog- I mean, it's usually pretty hard to roll 35 more points than another team, usually. This time... well, my money's staying in my pocket.
No, because they are making money (about $900,000, which is rather low as far as payouts for these kind of games go) for the 2 games against Oklahoma State and Florida State.
And Yes, because even though they're making money for the games, they are getting demoralized and beaten up 2 weeks in a row.

I hate when big time programs play 1-AA schools (unless, of course, the 1-AA school pulls off the upset).

Are the people who schedule Savannah State's games masochists or something? Geez
We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...

SSU covers the spread. Florida State 70, SSU 0

If I bet $1 on Savannah State winning, and they pull off the upset, what do you think my return would be? lol
Class of 2010.
I thought that Vegas didn't put spreads on Div 1A vs 1AA? I remember there never was a spread when we played Youngstown St.
Maybe they're thinking that the sheer absurdity of the spread will entice voters. Gotta say, I'd probably take the points, here.
this is almost like Tiger Woods vs. the field. gonna drop $100 on the dog.
Except the field is way more talented than Savannah State...
Savannah learns from last weeks beating, covers the spread...Someone gets smart at FSU, bets huge, shaves the points, Savannah covers the spread. The world is full of kings & queens who'll blind your eyes & steal your dreams - it's heaven & hell - Ronnie James Dio.
Florida State really isn't trying to break a sweat in the September are they?
