I read somewhere that they got off on another NCAA technicality... Since there was no evidence that athletic personnel specifically steered athletes towards those classes it wasn't an NCAA violation.

Considering the sensitivity of issues that could flare up and take center stage, the NCAA will never touch this one. No further action. Case closed period.
I think it's because there are implications that UNC's basketball team may have received some benefits as well. Can't have the heels basketball team getting sanctions.
Ok, academic issues do not fall under the NCAA, but the Penn State mess does? Don't get me wrong, the PSU mess disgusts me to no end, but why should they get hammered and not UNC? Academic fraud undermines the whole educational establishment!
But but but regular students were in these classes too! No way that these classes could've been set up to be passed easily so that athletes could stay eligible to play!

C'mon, it's not like they purchased a QB who led them to a national championship. Then the NCAA would really come down hard.
They got off because this is an academic problem not a football problem...or something.
It's not like they oversign recruits year after year, because we all know were the NCAA stands on that

There should be some sort of governing body that can create rules and impose penalties when those rules are broken...
That's a great idea! A governing body where all university's followed the same rules. I think your on to something POE

^^^^I agree....My only issue is that Ohio State gets crucified for selling their own stuff while everyone else gets off scott free.

Class of 2010.
Continuing to look at it with one hand and sweeping it under the rug with the other. I would be greatly surprised if anything else comes from this.
