This is interesting. Penn State folks always trumpeted the fact that they didn't put their names on the back of their jersey because the it was all about the team and not the individual.
I recall a t-shirt they were selling in Happy Valley where they were dissing Terrelle Pryor after OSU's loss in the Shoe in October of 2008 (where Pryor made multiple costly errors) and his decision to play at OSU and to shun his home state Nittany Lions. The caption on the shirt said this:
