They will also carry the logo on the team's jerseys this year and if I had to guess, it's because they chose to keep the same black/white scheme for both.
The Big Ten logo on the field is the color it is for branding. It's the same reason why the McDonalds arches are yellow. Not everything can be S&G sadly...
The simple, modern, catchy "B1G" somehow further points out how horrible "Legends" & "Leaders" are as division names, rather that making up for it.

^ agreed. I think it's overkill putting the conference logo on the jersey, I'm all for the colored small helmet decal. That looks fine. I think we should make that logo S&G.
