I've read some speculation that letter is 90% Sue and 10% Paterno. I think she is behind a lot of Paterno family maneuvering right now to protect his legacy.
I hope the victims take all of Paterno's estate at this point.
I find it terribly disturbing that people are up in arms about Spanier still being on the mural; yet no one seems to find fault with the fact that the other man just as guilty as him is the prominent subject of the painting. This shit is ridiculous.
Even if none of this ever happened, he should've never had a halo painted above his head. He coached football. I think a little perspective is required.
The whole idea of painting halos above heads on the mural just spacks of the hollier-than-thou attitude of PennSt. A dose of reality is what those fans need and are getting. Sadly it comes at the expense of some innocent victims.
But the blue ribbon stays??!! WTF?!! I guess little boys getting raped in the showers isnt considered child abuse! Oh yeah Joe Pa really supports child abuse victims! Wow....

Good god. This whole situation should be documented and packaged into a course on the downsides of hero worship.
Exactly. It is not just the "downsides," it is the flat out danger of the cult of personality.
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
Oh my goodness. The statue of JoeP.o.s. is going to stay standing for now, but I imagine that won't last.
Class of 2010.
Not surprisingly, there were reports from the BoT today that the statue will indeed remain standing. Nothing about this surprises me anymore.
Sorry if this has been refereced already, but has anyone see this?

Isn't the mural for important figures in State Penn history? And aren't the halo's painted after the person dies?
yeah, halo is for anyone on the mural who is dead

He probably should have removed the blue ribbon, too.
I say keep the blue ribbon -- Scarlet letter-like.

Ya, uh, shouldn't be hard. Dude was a crook and helped morally bankrupt your beloved institution.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
