Pardon my ignorance, I don't follow the NBA but I'm a little confused on the video. Did the Sullinger family already know when he was going to be picked? Satch was wearing a green shirt and then you could hear the tv in the background and everyone started screaming before the the broadcaster ever got Sullinger out of his mouth. I only ask because Jared looked really nervous up til that point and how embarrassing would it have been if they had announced Jared Cunninghams named instead which went 3 picks behind him.
Sorry again if this seems like a stupid question. I just don't know if it operates on the same basis as the NFL. Thanks in advance.

Well, with the other professional drafts, the team usually calls the guy and tells him he's the pick, before it's announced.  I would presume the NBA teams do the same.

True, but I thought that call usually occurred a few minutes before the actual selection (I could be wrong on that). Satch must have known (or had a pretty good idea) that the Celtics would take Jared or he wouldn't have worn green.

without actually looking or anything, didn't he coach Northland and both of the boys go there?  I think there colors are Green and White.
On the NFL draft "behind the scenes" shows, they always show the team calling the player a few minutes prior to placing the pick.  i would assume this is the same for the NBA.

even if they knew who was picking jared, this is the culmination of years and years of hard work and sacrifice. just because neil armstrong knew that he was gonna walk on the moon doesn't mean he wasn't super pumped about actually doing it

At least he fell to a good team with a winning tradition. This could be a blessing in disguise.

Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

EXACTLY.  The rich got richer in this case.
