So far, the acrimony directed at Pryor and his family has been unrelenting, James said.
"Can you imagine, given how the atmosphere has been, how he will be received when he walks into that stadium?" he said. "The young man is distraught. (His mother, Toni) is very distraught. Terrelle made mistakes, but his mother doesn't deserve anything like she's been subjected to."
Agree 1000% that TP's mother shouldn't have to deal with all the bs surrounding her son. But unfortunately, that's what happens all too often when you're a very public figure, especially a mother to a kid under a microscope with unrealistic expectaions to live up to. I think he would be received just fine if/when he walks in to the stadium again. However...
It doesn't sound like he's coming back...
"There's a fine line between stupid, and....clever. David St. Hubbins/Nigel Tufnel
So he can be booed just like the other guy saying we should all gather and boo him if he takes the field next year? I'm almost fed up with Pryor, but that's ridiculous.
I agree. I am very anti Pryor but I wouldn't boo anyone from our team. That doesn't mean I won't turn my eyes from the bull crap he does but I will pull for him to the benefit of our team.
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I think one thing we can all agree on is that the offense would be much, much better on-field this year with Pryor at QB than any of the other options.
I will disagree. If Fickell either gets somone in who can install the zone-read, or let Drayton do that, we can win right away with Guiton and/or Miller.
Is the line going to be able to learn that and adapt to it in three months? I'm not against the idea, but those guys have been playing with Pryor for three full years now. Things get pretty ingrained.
Technically we could be successful with JB under center as well. Just look at what Malzahn did with Chris Todd at Auburn in his first year there. The spread zone-read can be modified to work towards a less mobile qb as well. But obviously with Guiton and Miller I don't even think it becomes an issue.
Eddie George is supporting Charlie Strong to become head coach. That's very interesting. The next hire does not need to be a big name, Strong would actually already be a bigger name than JT was.
As posted by Andrea in the article, Strong is a LONG SHOT to get the job. No known ties to Ohio, and he played ball in the SEC. I would think he would eventually want to get back to the SEC. Ohio State needs a coach that would look at it as his "dream job," not a stepping stone. That rules out this guy(and Jon Gruden too, IMO).
"Here officer, hold my beer while I find my license."
He coached with Urban at ND, which is his best tie to the midwest. And he's been an assistant under Zook and Urban as head coaches (both from Ohio), sure, a bit of a stretch. May not matter though, we've already got Drayton on staff who's origginaly from Cleveland. If we could somehow retain Fickell, or bring in a DC with deeper Ohio ties that may be all that's necessary. Who knows if he'd view it as a stepping stone, I'd have to think we're above that.
Ohio State needs a miracle worker in the form of a homegrown wunderkind (Fickell) or a titan (Urban Meyer), who can make magic happen - and quickly.
Tressel's ouster was too sudden and dramatic for OSFCORP ("The Ohio State Football Corporation") to contemplate "giving somebody a shot."
Charlie's resume isn't, yet, "strong" enough for consideration for what FOX Sports has just mis-labeled as, the second most coveted job in college football.
The best college football coach in America (Meyer) knows that Ohio State is the best college football coaching job, in America. I want Ohio State to be the best college football team, in America.

We've chased Herbie off, and now maybe TP, whose next?
Earle and Speils???
...And when we win the game, We'll buy a keg of booze....And we'll drink to old Ohio til we wobble in our shoes...

Why should he come back?

October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day

Right, 2 things:
1-we already have some zone-read plays in the book (and we're always successful when utilizing them)
2-this article http://smartfootball.com/gameplanning/why-every-team-should-install-its-...
Valid points. Mostly, I fear the looming BowserMan.

Perhaps Drayton becomes OC...those 2 had successful times together in the past...

Yea, but he only wears ties when he has to (like when wearing his metallic jacket).

Woody,
Please don't punch a second string nose guard or lose it otherwise.
