Recruits across the nation take note: Spurn the offer at Ohio State and listen to these coaches who tell you that their program will best benefit you for reasons a,b,c at your own risk. One thing you can count on from Tressel is that if he gives you his word you can count on it. The man asked for no money and an extension on his contract so that he can be there for the recruits he is bringing in. That is character right there and stability and a platform that every kid can grow on. Hicks, Henderson, Floyd. I wonder what they are thinking at this moment.
I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.
I wonder if Fickell will be a target for the defensive coordinator search at Texas. Mack Brown said that they would initiate a national search for a new coordinator and he has a close relationship with Tressel. I wouldn't be shocked to see Fickell jump at the chance to shed the co-defensive coordinator title that he shares with Heacock.
Maybe, but not sure Fickell turning down ND means anything much, as ND is a far, far cry from UT and Texas pays their assistant coaches much better than does Ohio State. In any event, the scuttlebutt seems to be that Randy Shannon will be Texas' number one target for the open position; he and Mack Brown are close (Shannon was a target for the Texas DC slot in 2006 that went to Muschamp) and Shannon opens up southern Florida recruiting to the Longhorns.
smart on their part, i don't know why but i still think shannon can be a good coach and you're right, it might help them get back some of what it seems they've lost to OSU in recent years. florida recruiting has been huge for us lately

kind of doubt it, ND went after him and he turned them down. if he goes i can't see it being for anything less than a HC position.
