I know, we're all excited about tomorrow. But I read some of your guys' posts, and all I see is "MSU is a better team than last year." Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they aren't, but where's the support for our Buckeyes?
Yes TTUN State is a better team, but so is Ohio State. Sparty's D is better than last year. Well OSU's offense is better than last year.
Last year, Michigan State allowed 16.3 points per game, this year they are allowing only 11.75 points per game. It is very impressive, but not as impressive as the improvement of the Buckeye offense.
Last year, Ohio State averaged 37.2 points per game, this year they average 48.2 points per game.
Also last year, tOSU turned the ball over 3 times and Miller got hurt, and when they put Kenny G in, I don't think he even threw the ball once. This year, the Bucks have taken much better care of the ball and Miller is a much better quarterback. You also have Hyde on the hot-streak of his life.
Also the defense for tOSU was playing pretty good until last Saturday. That was a total fluke game by the TTUN offense, mainly because I don't think the Buckeyes came fully prepared on defense for that game.
One last thing is, I think Luke Fickell is kind of getting the shaft with all of the "Fire Fickell" chants. Against TTUN there were plenty of chances for the D-line to take Gardner down behind the line, he was surrounded quite a few times, but he escaped and made a play. I'm not saying that it's not Fickell's fault at all, because it mostly is, like not spotting all of the screen passes that they were throwing, or rushing only 3 linemen, etc. But there were times where they had Gardner, but let him get away and it almost cost them their perfect season. I also expect MSU to do kind of the same thing with pulling out the bag of tricks, hopefully this time they'll be better prepared for it.
Anyways, it'll all be alright. It's going to be a helluva game tomorrow, my prediction is that it's tied at halftime and the Bucks start to pull away in the 2nd half. Final score Ohio State 34 Michigan State 21. And they'll be off to Pasadena to take on Florida State or Auburn or Missouri or Northern Illinois.
