The Series:
This is the first football game between the Florida A&M Rattlers and No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Rattlers are a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). The Marching 100, Florida A&M's band, is probably better known than the football team.

Unfortunately for A&M, and Ohio State fans, the Marching 100 will not be making the trip to Columbus.

However, the Buckeyes' rushing game plans to make FAMU feel right at home by unleashing the "Marching 300."

With the return of Carlos Hyde to the backfield, Ohio State will likely gain over 300 yards rushing in consecutive games.

El Guapo is back. I'm sure the long break has him even hungrier this season.

If Ohio State gains 300 yards rushing in this game it will mark the fifth time in 16 games (.27) that the Buckeyes gained 300 or more rushing yards under Urban Meyer.

In the 15 years (176 games) before Meyer the Buckeyes only gained over 300 rushing yards eight times (.05).

I know many fans are wondering if Kenny Guiton has earned the right for more playing time when Braxton Miller returns, but for me the bigger question is what role will Carlos Hyde have with the team when he returns this weekend?

The desire for Urban Meyer to have a 1,000 yard running back should not be dismissed lightly. With the start Jordan Hall has had this season, 402 yards after three games, Hall could see increased carries to get to that 1,000 yard mark.

I believe that Hyde is the better fit for this offense because he adds a strong physical presence to the ground game.

However, I could see Meyer continue with Hall against weaker opponents and save Hyde for Wisconsin, Northwestern and Michigan.

By doing so Meyer should get his 1,000 yard running back and have a healthy and angry Carlos Hyde to unleash on the Badgers, Wildcats and Wolverines. Just typing that makes me happy.

Today's Trivia Questions:

Devin Smith has 13 touchdown catches. How many yards is his average touchdown reception?

Ohio State has scored on all ten trips to the red zone this season. How many of the ten trips ended with a touchdown?

Answers at the bottom of today's article.

THE RUNOFF

Urban Meyer is 15-0 at Ohio State, 119-23 overall.

"Hey ref, sorry you got this game, but I'm not responsible for scheduling FAMU."

Earl Holmes is 1-2 at Florida A&M, 1-2 overall.

A graduate of Florida A&M and will be the latest coach
to lose to Urban Meyer and Ohio State.

The Amazing Mr. Smith
Devin Smith's 90-yard touchdown catch from Kenny Guiton last week was the longest play from scrimmage in Ohio State's history.

Smith has an incredible yards per touchdown reception average. You will find that average at the bottom of the article.

Since 2002 the Buckeyes are 68-7 (.907) at home.

Jordan Hall leads the Big Ten averaging 12.7 points per game and six touchdowns scored.

Ohio State's 15 straight wins is the longest in the nation. 22 is Ohio State longest winning streak (1967-1969).

2013 Freshman Legs:

Dontre Wilson gained 107 yards against Cal by land and air. Wilson rushed for 59 yards and caught 3 passes for 48 yards.

That is an average of 15.3 ypc and 16.0 ypr.

Today's Trivia Questions:

Devin Smith has 13 touchdown catches. How many yards is his average touchdown reception?

Answer: 43.3 yards per touchdown reception. That's right, 43.3 yards per touchdown reception.

Ohio State has scored on all ten trips to the red zone this season. How many of the ten trips ended with a touchdown?

Answer: 9 touchdowns and 1 field goal.

I'm also smiling when I see Drew Basil on the sideline
when the Buckeyes are scoring touchdowns in the red zone.

One Bad Buckeye's picture

Without looking it up, who are the 7 losses in Ohio Stadium since 2002?
Off the top of my head I count: USC, Illinois, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State and Texas....who was the 7th?
Edit: Never mind, it was Penn State twice....duh.

I particularly dislike the clothes line type tackles, even if it's a Buckeye doing the tackling. That's not the first near decapitation to Dontre "$#¡+ my hair is on fire" Wilson.

I like "Gone-tre".
