Bowl game locales are forever going to be a thorn in the side of northern teams.  USC has one stellar Rose Bowl record, however, take them out of SoCal and that record ain't so stellar.
A major issue that I will always have with a CFB playoff until higher seeds are rewarded with home games.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl?  Tempe, AZ?
Is there still an Alamo Bowl?  Peach Bowl?  Meineke Car Care Bowl?  Geez!

There are 35 bowl games, and only 15 are listed above.

The Peach Bowl is currently the Chick-fil-a Bowl, but will again be the Peach Bowl in the playoff era and be added to the Big Four as a six-bowl rotation to host the semi-final matches.

Outback Bowl is in Tampa. Capital One Bowl is in Orlando.

Anybody else remember the Bluebonnet Bowl? Played until '87 in Houston.

Wasn't that one always on New Years Eve?  I think I recall watching that every year when my parents would go out for NYE.   They would order me a pizza, and I would hang out watching the Bluebonnet Bowl alone at home.   Loved it.

It Was most often on New Years Eve!!

Since 2007 the Chick-Fil-A Bowl has been played on New Year's Eve night.
Last year was a great game (Clemason 25, LSU 24), but The Chick-Fil-A Bowl seems to be a lopsided game. I think four of the last seven were double digit victories.
This year I expect another blow out when Texas A&M plays Duke.
With that said, I still like watching the game.

Some of the throws that Tajh Boyd made in that game are haunting me when I think about the Orange Bowl.

Name changed to the Astro Bluebonnet Bowl, IIRC.  Assume because it was played in the Astrodome?  Is that still in use?  Saw my one and only rodeo there.

Missed the last one. Ugh. I've worked in that town, too.

The Orange Bowl is technically in Miami Gardens, not Miami.

I did pretty horribly at this outside of the BCS bowls. I guess Ohio State fans really are spoiled....
