Unleash the Giant

Braxton MIller is the greatest running quarterback I have ever seen.  He may not be a long ball pass threat but he runs as effortlessly as Jim Brown and sees openings that always progress him forward.  He has the finess of Pele and Paul Warfield combined.  His acceleration and deceleration is duly noted by the opposing teams underwear left on the field.  Coach Urban is right; "he is one class kid".  A true roll model for young athletes to follow.

Take this very modest and young man and turn him loose on the Big 10.  If you want to inspire the offensive line,  run him more.

Whoa you ever watch this kid name Michael Vick that used to play at VTech?? Brax is nice running with the football but ive seen some pretty impressive QB's that could run the rock. Vick is the Michael Jackson of scrambling lol.

It's your opinion about Braxton but I have to say its a bit extreme.

sadly this was downvoted because he plays for TTUN, but yes i must agree with you. He does have insane "running" talent. Alas for their fans he is 160 lbs. and reminds me of Mr. Glass from Unbreakable.

A lot of Buckeye fans don't like to hear the truth regarding a lot of topics..stats don't lie. The guys rushed for 3508 yards and 39 td's in 3 1/3 seasons. I'm not a fan of the guy and find him to be very annoying but he's a freak runner.

160 lbs? Maybe as a sophomore in h.s...he's around 190-195 lbs or so.

Tommie Frazier was awesome back in the day at Nebraska. His stats were not as great, mostly because that Nebraska team had so many ridiculous runners.

Denard is just fast, most of his big plays are when he runs straight up the middle when no ones around him.  I wouldn't say Miller is the best you've ever seen but he's still pretty nasty.  I'd say he's probably the best scrambling QB since Vick for what all he can do out there, the speed, power, agility, moves etc.  Although I think if Pryor was in this Offense and didn't waste his whole career under Bollman, he could have been pretty nasty and put up monster #s.

If we were running the spread during Pryor's recruitment he would not have come here. He wanted to play in a pro-style offense to prepare himself for the NFL.

i cannot..and will not...reference Braxton and Denarded together. I believe they are two completely different styles of running. Denard has the quickness, but Braxton...Braxton just has the natural running through a crowd ability. Probably vision and decision making (that doesn't transfer over to his passing game) but i relaly do believe he is in a seperate class of qb athlete. He needs  a little bit more slack to his leash.

Your shotgun blast of names came up with a winner:  Braxton is basically a less-accurate Dennis Dixon right now.  Of course, my memories of Dixon are of him as a junior/senior and Miller's only a sophomore, so I'd think there's a lot of potential to eventually become more...

What impresses me most about Braxton is the agility - the way he can make you miss.  There are a lot of QBs over the years who were great runners, but only some of those names had that pure athleticism and ability to leave jockstraps on the field.  The scary thing is that Braxton is still developing and learning.  Granted, most of his future development will come in the passing game, but imagine how dangerous he can become as a runner as his arm becomes more and more of a threat to opposing defenses, and it becomes a "pick your poision" type of deal.  I'm not labeling him the greatest running QB ever right now, but the dude will end up in the conversation.  Call it Buckeye Kool-Aid all you want (we are on an OSU blog, shame on me for showing a little bias for an OSU player), but you can't deny that we have something special at QB.

The Jim Brown comparison may be a bit of a stretch. Braxton is an amazing runner, and if his passing skills ever manage to catch up to his running skills...It will be game over for the rest of the B1G.

Braxton is def the best running QB in OSU history..yes better than Pryor, but there's been wayyyy too many great RB QB's in the history or college football to make such a statement. Add to the fact he's only played in 17 college games so far.

I thinks Brax is right up there with Vick...or at least will be when he leads tOSU to a nat'l championship.   It's just absolutely sick awareness and agility.

I would also put rg3, vy, and a few more in the list.

But for sure I think Brax wil be the best Buckeye QB...so far....

I dunno man go back and watch some of Vicks VTech highlights. Braxton doesnt have the top end speed like Vick and wasnt as quick either. Vick was out of this world running the rock.

There are too many great running QB's the last 10 years or so to say Braxons the best after only playing 17 games.

Denard, Cam Newton, Pat White, Vince Young, Antwan Randal-El, RG-3, Tim Tebow, Dennis Dixon, Brad Smith, Colin Capernick..just to name a few.

Although you may be premature in crowning Braxton as the best ever, I do believe his potential is off the charts! To his own credit, Braxton provides highlight reel footage EVERY game is friggin amazing! I'm torn on running him any more than we currently do because of concerns of durability, but he does do incredible things with the rock in his hands. He is the best back we have in space, he also makes the first guy miss.
