Hello everyone! This is a new series I will be starting called NCAA FOOTBALL 14 predicts. A new edition will come out every pre-game Friday(I decided to get this one done early). On the bye weeks I will choose another B1G team and do their game. I will be accounting for suspensions and injuries by lowering that players stats to make them a 40 overall. Unfortunately, Dontre Wilson's stats will not be accurate due to the fact NCAA 14 does not account for the Hybrid position. I am not playing these games, I am super-simming with 15 minute quarters. Let's get into it:

Ohio State 17 31 17 10 75
Buffalo 0 3 7 7 17

Rushing Stats:

Leading Rusher: Zeke Elliot

Armani Reeves also had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Kicking Stats:

Thank you all for reading. Please give me some feedback on this edition so I can improve my later versions.

That would sure be a sweet score.
Do we have to give up 17?

Pretty cool little simulation idea. As I said in another thread earlier, I'd sure like to see us put up over 70.

1.  You forgot Dontre Wilson, UFM said he'd play, and I'm sure he'll get a few yards. I'd go as far as saying that he may be the leader, either rushing, receiving, or returning.
2.  I'm thinking shutout on defense, 75-0 :-)

The game does not account for the hybrid position. I put him in at the 4th receiver spot and he still did not get stats.

That's too bad they can't get Dontre in the game.  I see him really taking over while El Guapo is out and maybe never sitting again for the rest of the season, depending on how he performs.
Maybe we can look at Ezekial's stats and just assume that most of those carries would have gome to Dontre.  I know that Zeke was highly touted when he signed with the Bucks, but the position is so deep and talented that I just don't see him being highlithed that much this early.

Evan Spencer went off! NCAA programmers must be watching the media interviews about the strides of the veteran Buckeye WRs this year.

I'm still watching the game come Saturday....

My only suggestion would be to run the sim three times each week and take the averages. I suspect the numbers would vary wildly, but if not, that would be interesting, too.

I had simmed one game before this and my girlfriend turned it off because it was 2AM (The only time I can get on and not be bothered). In that game Braxton got injured and Guiton had a great game.

Well, I support your girlfriend doing this JUST THIS ONCE! I don't think any of us need to see Braxton injured in the first game of the season... even a FAKE season.

Holy crap! Look at all those pancake blocks! But a Hall fumble?
Love this idea, Deadly!

Thanks for the post! As a NCAA video game fan, it's nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this (my play calling is better than the actual coaches). now if I could only get the wife and kids to go to bed earlier so I can play...

I finally got a set of Gold Pants!

wow those are video game numbers!

Oh the irony! But not really at the same time...mind = blown

NCAA 14 loves Armani Reeves.  He was a beast in my season, too.  You may have to reduce the time of the quarters as the numbers get embellished.  There just won't be a game where 126 offensive plays are run.

Man I am getting amped up for this season SOOOOOO much now!  I feel like I just drank a handful of 5 Hour Energy shots.  I may have to call off work....  :)
On a more serious note, I'm very glad to see that the video game backs up my prediction that Noah Spence is 1) going to be nearly unstoppable and 2) going to break the single-season sack record this year.
Also, if Braxton can make those kind of numbers happen on a weekly basis, you can go ahead and start engraving his name on the Heisman trophy right now.

This is a very cool idea. I hope to see us hang 70 on anyone this year. I would love that! Please keep these coming. Thanks!!!!

Pretty interesting.  I wonder how this score will be compared to the real score.  I like this idea.  Will be cool to see from week to week.

I look at the running stats and see Zeke scores.  I'll say it's the 1st TD to make my easy EZE pick turn out correctly.  Anything can happen in video land and on the interweb.

What was the punt average?  Or were we puntless?

Pretty cool stuff, DN. This will be a fun little thing to see played out through the season.

This is an awesome idea, but in order for you to account for Dontre Wilson you're gonna have to do some extra work if you don't mind ;)
The way I did it, I went through Ohio State's playbook (I'm at work right now so I can give you the formations & plays later) and you have to manually sub in Dontre on plays/formations that have the Pivot position in, including the "diamond" formation.
Some plays are obvious, like the jet sweeps, bubble screens, and the read-option inside/outside pitch. In most cases you'll find Evan Spencer or Devin Smith in those spots (noted of the rushing stats - should've probably been 8 touches for Dontre there).

Just a few friendly suggestions for the future sims.  1) for injured or suspended players, just take them out of the depth chart before the game.  much easier...2) adjust the depth chart through out the game OR, (what I do) is sub players for certain packages...then you will always get the best 11 players on the field.
