Shapiro: "I'm taking that program down to Chinatown"

From - Nevin Shapiro is mad as hell and he's not gonna take it anymore. The media has been pretty quiet about the whole Miami scandal since it broke, and of course the Penn State scandal overwhelmed everything else. But, this could get even more interesting. Miami makes Ohio State looks like the Boy Scouts of America.

“The public is going to hate me worse in the next coming months. It’s going to be severe and catastrophic. My feelings are getting inflamed and I’m going to pop off pretty soon with regards to them and the NCAA. I’m coming for them both [UM and former players] and I’m going to be successful. “I’m taking that program down to Chinatown and the former players and links to that program. Why? Because the U.S. government lined up 47 former players to testify against me in open court if I went to trial. That in itself is motivation to shove it up their collective [butts].”

These violation cases take forever, where's my instant gratification?

The investigation into OSU's "Tat 5" took about 12 months.

Can't see why the investigation into Miami would need to be any longer.  Reports of misdoings in Coral Gables came out in late late late August 2011, so we may be getting a great Christmas gift this December, assuming interpretations of the Myan calendar are wrong.

Miami has had serious NCAA violations in the past 20 years.  I'd hope the NCAA takes that into consideration and doubles the punishment.  If not Miami will be "business as usual" in 5 years.

What happens when an egotistical dirtbag loses millions of dollars, all his friends (at least he thought they were his friends), and goes to prison?   Nevin Shapiro happens...

He's a dirtbag who discredits himself by declaring he's only doing this for attention.  Ok, he has pictures of football player partying.  Well, so does every other university/NFL franchise/high school.

The guy is just screaming for attention before spending years in the slammer.  If he's smart he'll wait to talk during the NFL offseason and before NBA playoffs to get all the ESPN attention there is... that's exactly what he's doing.

Oh no, we're going to find out some player on the 2008 team had a backup center who got free Ramada Inn continental breakfasts... Looks like a 1-2 year bowl ban on the way, if that.

You do realize he has credit card bills, copies of text messages, phone records, pictures and proof of players getting illicit benfits right? Something like 72 players were involved the past decade, and they have legitimate evidence of them receiving illicit benfits. Read the full Yahoo report bub.

Al Golden is right. The worst is behind them. No tats, no sanctions.

People continue to throw the words "Death Penalty" around any time a program gets in some hot water. Shapiro has all of these things, there is no denying that. But nothing Miami did or Shapiro did for Miami\recruits approaches what SMU did. SMU was on probation, got hit with a pretty serious penalty after additional violations took place and continued their rogue behavior forcing the NCAA's hand. THEN the NCAA hit them with a hammer it immediatley regretted using and will not use again. Not only that but the NCAA has to show that Miami knew about the violations. That's where SMU got the worst of it-their school president was aware of the problem. If its shown the powers that be at Miami knew-the penatly will be bad. It still wont reach the multiple infractions SMU had committed.

Shapiro is an idiot. His 'testimony' and evidence will damn Miami in the court of public opinion and Miami will be in some trouble. They will, however, not receive the death penalty, or 'anything close to it'.

Didn't know there was a "Chinatown" in Miami Lil' Nev - but I do appreciate the audacity of the guy. Now if his intent was something like "takin' that program down to Little Havana", there are some places there that even a 300 pound lineman would not want to be.....
