BuckeyeChief's blog

Things fall apart...

Well fellas, I have checked into my new command...I'm up against it with work, but a lot of good challenges ahead. I'm going to be very busy, mentoring all these young guys and sharing my experiences.banter

I'd like to thank you all for the conversations, insight and game day talk we've shared over the last 3+ years...this was a great find on my '08 deployment, and the only sane place to go during tatt-gate. I'll miss this stuff day in and out.

On a positive note, there are about 15 Buckeye fans onboard, so I have a lot of people to talk football with.

I'll still be around, not quite as frequent as I have over the last three years, but at least once a week, until 2015...then it's on...

Jason and Denny have my new e-mail address. If you want to keep in touch with me, give me a shout. (LA Buckeye, Buckeye Dude, Buckeye Ski, Pam M Man and others).

Greg Oden is out...

Again. Man, this is starting to feel like groundhog day. Grant Hill was able to come back eventually from his issues, but I think it may be time for GO to hang them up. Blazer fans are depressed, but (via their blogs) aren't killing the man, just feeling bad.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden has suffered another setback and may miss the entire 2011-12 season, according to a report on Portland-based KGW.com.

"Following Greg's most recent physical examination and evaluation, we've determined that he has suffered a setback," Trail Blazers President Larry Miller told KGW.com. "We're hopeful, but less confident that he will return to the court this season. We've stood by Greg from the day he was drafted and we continue to do so now."

The Blazers and Oden agreed to a one-year contract Friday, but not the $8.9 million qualifying offer that he had agreed upon earlier. Miller told KGW both sides agreed to negotiate a new deal, independent of the qualifying offer.

"I'm obviously disappointed with the setback, but I'm as determined as ever to return to the court," Oden said in a statement. "I appreciate the support of the Trail Blazers and our fans and that they continue to stand behind me."

Heavy D

Fellas, in case you care, Heavy D died this morning...

(EDIT): This sucks...listened to this guy alot in HS,on the North side of Columbus with my best friend at that time, "Big" Mike Mundell, who died during our junior year because of diabetes...Mike and I  hung out alot on campus in HS, with the Young Scholar's program and other events...tough day reminiscing about those times listening to Heavy D, Craig Rock, Biggie, Wu-Tang, Jodeci, etc in high school with people I will never see, things I'll never do again. I gotta make it back for a game in the next few years...

44? Man that's young, coulda swore he was older.

RIP big fella.

Custom Buckeye Jerseys

SO after hanging around on UNIWATCH, I came up with an idea for new B-Ball jerseys. Just my own concept. I really don't care for the Nike System of dress style, even though their is still a pattern named "Ohio State" (based on the 06-07 regular season jerseys) which can be found on Eastbay or Nike.com.

We haven't had a identity on the basketball uniforms that screams us, just some generic stuff over the last few years. Thoughts???

I replaced the football stipes on the home and road jerseys , and the "Ohio State" on the home jersey with an arched "Buckeyes" . Also, I seperated the "Ohio State" from top to top and bottom,  and arched it on the Road and Alt. I was somewhat limited by the Nike website as to what I wanted to do.
