Just thought it would be interesting to give everyone a look at the veteran players currently on the roster (non-true frosh) who were recruited by Urban at Florida. These were players who had offers from Meyer when he was the head coach. There were some others on last year's roster, but I thought it was interesting that Meyer now gets to coach these players after missing out on them while in Gainesville.

I thought about coming up with a list like this, but you did it for me!
It always interested me to see which players Urban also recruited while at Florida, and then see if those guys end up being more of his "preferred" players. The most intriguing one, right from the start, is Shazier. Originally committed to Florida, then re-considered when Meyer resigned.
Every single one of these guys are, and will be, big time contributors for the Scarlet and Gray. Just another example of why we really should trust the recruiting plan that has been put together by Urban and his staff.

I was thinking about the same thing the other day. Do you recall if any of those players came down to a close call between OSU and UF? Shazier comes to mind.
Braxton Miller and Curtis Grant really liked Florida too...I think Philly Brown had Florida in his final 3 as well
I know he didnt come to OSU but Sharrif Floyd was really close as well between us and them. He is a beast at UF now.

It definitely proves that Urban has a plan for recruiting players. I can see how they will fit his style. I believe Shazier was considered a three star too... He is a player, and with his extra size it should be fun to watch him tatoo (no pun intended) people..

Everyone knows Urb actually quit Florida so he could come coach Ryan Damn Shazier.
It makes me laugh everytime I read it, but what's the "damn" all about?

Shazier's middle name is Dean i believe. I think one of the staff abbreviated his name to RDS, and someone jokingly called him Ryan Damn Shazier. It's just stuck since then.
