PLEASE READ: One Dollar-One Day Fundraiser Push

Dear 11W Community,

As you know we have been running the Respect the Basement Fundraiser for a while now and are winding down towards the end come April 1. We have done an outstanding job and we appreciate everyone's help thus far, but we are so close yet so far from achieving our goal to hire a beat writer.

We realized on National Signing Day that we would have hit our goal if every single person that visited 11W that day donated just $1 to the cause, so we thought, why not actually try designating a day where each person to visit this site donates $1. Assuming people get paid either weekly, bi-weekly, or the 1st and 15th of every month, we thought that next Friday, March 16 would be a good day as most of our readers that have jobs will get paid around then.

Obviously this is completely optional, but we are fully committed to keeping this site as it is, with free content. To bring you the best free Ohio State content on the web, we need your help in bringing 11W to the next level and if you can spare just one single dollar on March 16 towards the fundraiser, it would be greatly appreciated. Of course, you don't have to ONLY donate $1 and can give more if you can afford it, but please know every penny helps here and $1 per person will go a long way.

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop them in the comment section below. Please spread the word and help us reach our goal of hiring a beat writer by the spring game.

I probably won't donate that day, nor will I visit the site. I'll be happily in route to a bachelorette/St Patty's weekend of general debauchery in Chicago.

If it's ok, I'll throw in my $1+ on the 15th.

I've asked this on Twitter to one of you but I don't remember who....Is there anyway I can donate via paypal? I would like to donate but really hate having all these accounts and didn't really want to create another. Paypal seems to be the standard way. I'm not saying I won't donate any other way but to me it would just be easier.

Feeling inspired. This is only the second time I've commented, since I have just joined, but have been lurking here for the past year. The 11W community kept me sane during the 2011 crash and burn of the OSU football program. So...... in recognition of this being the best Buckeye site on the web, I just made a donation. In addition, I will match up to a $250 additional total donation by the other readers here - in any $ shape or form (250 $1 donations, or 10 $25 donations, etc...) by March 16th. Love this site and want to thank all the staff for their hard work & keeping it free. If 11W will just keep me posted on the tally I'll ante up!

BUCKEYEVET, myself another person each donated $100 today; I think the fundraiser is up about $1200 in the last 24 hours. So I think you're on the hook to match it! Haha.

As a student at tOSU, I love the fact that 11W provides us with such terrific coverage of tOSU sports.. FOR FREE! I sacrificed a couple cases of Nati a few weeks ago to donate.. So I guess I could sacrifice another buck!

Made my donation yesterday, it will be good to see it go over 12k. Alex, are there any plans to maybe extend the fund raiser through the summer? I think many of us would like to continue to contribute as we can.

You know with people donating per Buckeye win, Respect the Basement should be extended two or three days to get thru the championship game on April 2 if (and that's a big "if", I know....*knocks on wood*...) the Bucks make it to the end.
