Video: Mike Thomas' Acrobatic Catch in the WHAC

By DJ Byrnes on January 31, 2014 at 9:39a

(Trigger warning: There's some vulgarity in the video's audio.)

Since four-star WR Michael Thomas has landed at Ohio State, his biggest moments have come tearing up the Spring Game and also the production of his fellow WRs down the stretch of the 2013 season.

It appears, however, Michael Thomas is ready to take that next step. Braxton Miller said he's most excited to throw to Thomas next season. Then video of his freakish jumping ability surfaced.

Now we have another video. In this one, Thomas shows ability to high-point the ball, great body control and a fantastic "my ball" mentality that has been devoid in Ohio State wide receivers for way too long.

Granted, it would be much more impressive doing this in the Horshoe on a Saturday in front of 105,000 people, but still... it's a start.

He looks ready. Great height and concentration. Can't wait for cantguardmike.

Hoping this translates into game action, and not just the spring game.

I can't wait to watch him next season.  The link to his "freakish jumping ability" has an article but no video.  I would love to see the video!

The video isn't there on my screen and I refresh still nothing just blank wall. Anyone have a link to the video?

Are you viewing it from work? Instagram could be blocked on a filter, perhaps.

Here's a link to the direct Instagram page Mike posted it on.

Please give this guy more reps next season!

Seems pretty excited for what looked to be half assed defense played against him. Just my honest opinon. Excited to seem him getting the work in but he has to have it translate on a real field on Saturdays, not just the Spring Game.

his anger and happyrage satisfies me...

there is no greater joy than watching Michigan get slammed. in anything

I hope he is able to do whatever is asked by the coaching staff to get on the field next season! The team would benefit from an additional playmaker.
He already seems to have the receiver attitude.

All Hype.
This kid has Terrell Owens drama queen written all over him! Devin Smith and Evan Spencer will still be the top two wideouts next year...

Buckeye Jason in the house. Always good to see you on here.

That would be really sad if spencer and smith started next year.

Why sad?

I'm telling you...he's going to play as long as he does this consistently and doesn't drop too many. I personally thought since the Spring game that he would be Braxton's #1wr. It just didn't turn out that way so far. I have a feeling that's going to change in 2014.

Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.

I'm going with Can't Guard Mike all the way through point B and I'm going to be pissed off when I get there too.

Give that to me on the field in the fall. Not at the WHAC or the spring game.

Ho-Hum.  Time to prove it, not just tweet it, talk about it or post it on Instagram.  Game highlights will convince me.  There is some reason he hasn't been on the field much and I have a feeling the coaches (and MT) are pretty clear on that reason.  Spring won't show me much (been there, done that).  I'll be convinced if it translates in the Fall.
