Michigan and Florida to Kick-Off 2017 Campaigns at Jerry-World

Florida vs. Michigan in 2017 at Jerry-World

The last time Michigan tried to bang with an SEC team to start a campaign, Alabama (-14) punched the Wolverines' teeth back down their throat in one of the easiest gambling calls of the 21st century. The end result was a  41-14 Tide victory that was the start of Alabama's third BCS title in four years.

Michigan is again in search of a statement win to begin their season, but this time they've dialed down a bit on the SEC food chain. While Al Borges and Whatever-Offensive-Coordinator-Will-Muschamp eventually hires could set offensive football back three decades, there's also a good chance neither Brady Hoke or Will Muschamp will be coaching these teams when they kick-off in Jerry-World on September 2nd, 2017.

I'm sending NASA an email now to see what kinds of potential astrological impacts might occur in 2017.

Any bets on who will be coaching either team by then?

Snarkies gonna snark.

They will merge and be coached jointly by Lane Kiffin.

Sorry to beat a dead horse but please tell me it will be a double header featuring Appalachian State vs Georgia Southern before this game

You have it backwards, they are the headliners.

Remarkable. This will be Florida's first regular season non-conference game outside the state of Florida since a 1991 trip to Syracuse. Florida lost the game to the Orangemen, 38-21.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing.

That's amazing. So, are the Gators really Charlie Kelly?

Really want OSU to get a few of these SEC matchups. IIRC Vandy, Tennessee, and Georgia have all been scheduled games that didn't come to fruition. Would've loved to see any of those three (particularly Georgia). Guess it's bowl game or bust.

Even if Michigan loses, it's a fantastic showcase game for them on national TV, and something they (Hoke or whoever's coaching them next lol) can point to for recruits. OSU's game against Oklahoma just doesn't have the same flash. Maybe the Texas game, but it really depends on where Texas is as a program at that point. The Oregon game will be fantastic, though.

The worst part about the uga-tenn series is that they were canceled for that pac12/b10 agreement that never even happened....

Man, that'll be fun. A game in which I hate both teams so badly that any outcome at all will both make me smile as well as make me completely sick. It's a win-win & lose-lose all rolled up into one.

It'll either be a matchup of 2 shitty teams or a matchup of a team with Charlie Strong and Les Miles coaching programs on the rebound.

Florida has already sent a message, via pony express, canceling the game...

Why is such a crappy game scheduled?
Georgia Southern vs. Appalachian State.
Now that's a match-up!

LSU/Wisky and now UF/scUM? Could it be that the SEC is finally attempting to overcome their lone criticism of not being willing to play ball in the northern states? Oh wait, no... just willing to schedule perceived 'down' teams from northern states at neutral locations in the south.
