Carlos Hyde Becomes Urban Meyer's First 1,000-Yard Running Back

By Jason Priestas on November 23, 2013 at 4:43p

With a seven yard carry in the second quarter of the Indiana game, Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde topped 1,000 yards for the season, becoming Urban Meyer's first 1,000-yard back.

Imagine what he'd have if he hadn't been suspended for the first three games of the season.

Deserved it, man. El Guapo is a man child

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

Kudos to El Guapo, as well as the big fellas up front.

Great Job El Guapo and the big uglies.

I'm not saying,  I'm just saying.

The 1,000th yard:

Typifies what Hyde is about, giving a defender a ride for the last couple of yards of the run.
This man will play on Sundays when he is finished with his OSU career.

Instead of putting his head in the sand when things were down and he received the suspension, El Guapo worked hard and put the team on his back in many hard games. True warrior, true Buckeye. Congratulations Carlos, we will always remember you!

Not to poo poo the moment, but I can't help but wonder where he would have been without missing three games.
Regardless...congrats El Guapo!!

He's a man among boys.  Think he will do well in the NFL.  Would love to see him go for at least 314 yards against TTUN  (for you old guys like me, you probably get my "Biakabutuka" reference).

He will be a player from the start in the NFL.  He has strength, power, and speed.  I also believe that he gained a lot of maturity through adversity this year which will help in the NFL and in life.  If not for the suspension he would have possibly been in the Heisman conversation at this point, very likely.  He will not be a practice squad member or simply on special teams, he will be playing on Sunday, not standing on the sidelines, but playing.  Very fitting that Hyde is Urban's first 1000 yard back, and very fitting that this happened for Urban at OSU.  Good stuff.

I cringe every time I see the number 313. We still owe them a lot of payback for that day. I hope Hyde has a career-best day next week in AA.

I'm still bitter that he wasn't used more in 2011. :/

Congrats Carlos, a true record.

I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.

Awesome for Hyde and Meyer   Also, lots of credit to the o-line they're doing work for those run Plays.   Go bucks 23-0.

If he had been able to play the 3 early games this year and the National media showed a bit of love to the Buckeye's El Guapo, Miller (had he not been injured, and Shazier would be #1, 2, and 3 in New York for the Heisman

Love Carlos. Looking forward to watching him run in the next three games.

El Guapo is much like a calculator...  You can count on him.

That game was special. RDS played like a legend, Brax ran possessed and El Guapo just keeps on trucking folks. It was a good day.

Being Urban's first 1000 yard RB should make El Guapo infamous.

Would you say I have a plethora of yards?
Yes, El Guapo, you have a plethora
No doubt in my mind missing those games cost him the Heisman because nobody else has been as dominant. NOBODY.

Love El Guapo. Had to give a ton of uv's on this thread. Everything I had to say was already said.
