D'Angelo Russell's Paperwork is In

D'Angelo Russell is officially a Buckeye.

After a bit of a delay, five-star guard D'Angelo Russell's paperwork is in to Ohio State. Russell, considered the crown jewel of Thad Matta's class, caused some anxiety because his paperwork had to go from prep school to guardian for signature, meaning he didn't sign Wednesday with fellow classmates Keita Bates-Diop, Jae-Sean Tate and Dave Bell.

Russell, a 6-5 shooting guard from Louisville, is a five-star prospect according to ESPN (No. 12 overall), Scout (No. 17) and Rivals (No. 21). He averaged 12.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for Montverde Academy (Fla.) as a junior last season. During the summer, he won titles at Peach Jam with E1T1 Elite and the Adidas Nations championship with USA Blue. For good measure, Russell was co-MVP of the Nike Global Challenge.

Fashionably late.

Say this all the time but it is so hard to be top tier football and basketball at the same school. Most powerhouse basketball schools don't have a good football team and vice versa. Texas and Florida come to mind as a few but have dropped off a lot lately.

Baylor is actually a decent example.  And Florida hasn't really fallen off in basketball, they are still relevant.  TTUN is another football school which seems more like a basketball school at the moment.  Louisville is on the cusp in football.  But yea, the Florida vs. OSU national title games in both sports was most likely the only time we will ever see something close to that.

Baylor is a great example. They came out of no where in both sports. Florida is still a solid basketball program. Eddie Munster is a good coach! (Billy Donovan)

What about Kentucky, Indiana, and Duke? Um, never mind.

Definitely need depth at the PG position. We'll have Scott start for a year with Russell probably getting lots of minutes a lot like Craft did in his freshman year.
