Ole Miss beats LSU

Of six SEC teams favored today, five lost outright. LSU is the latest to get vexed on the day. The Rebels bullied LSU for most of the game before LSU rallied late to tie the game, before the Tigers were ultimately felled by a field goal that left two seconds left on the clock.

Yes, but previous to that they were undefeated. (end sarcasm font)

LMAO! Hopefully we don't have to hear about them anymore this year.

It just goes to show you how brutal it can be week in and week out in the SEC.

Looks like Miami will be next in line after us in the AP and maybe the Coaches. Florida State will more in likely jump us in the AP but maybe not the Coaches but I wouldn't count on it.

My take: LSU played like crap and got upset and bullied by a weaker Ole' Miss team
ESPNs take: OMG the SEC is sooooooo deep

Call me a hater, but I love seeing Les Miles lose...

What we can't do in the air we'll do on the ground.

LSU, feel free to beat Alabama though.

Of course ESECPN is saying it is about how deep the SEC is.
i bet Miss Red Dress aka Mississippi Queen is having a great night tonight!

The SEC is so deep that even Tennessee is a winner...after getting shellacked by an outsider, of course.

"Should a 2 loss LSU and A&M team jump Ohio State?" EMBRACE DEBATE!!!

C'mon, you know they don't actually watch College Football

Looking forward to hopefully seeing every SEC team with two losses. Mo has for it's next two games SC and TN. Auburn has to go to TN. LSU can beat Alabama on the road, and Alabama is at Auburn. Ohio State and Oregon may be only undefeated teams. FSU may make it, but a Freshman QB has got to cost them, if not against Miami, maybe in ACC Championship vs VT. I'd rather play Oregon than FSU.

I may not be able to outsmart too many people, but I can outwork 'em.

This is huge, along with the South Carolina loss and Georgia's collapse. Eliminates the chance of a one-loss SEC team leapfrogging Ohio State. That is, unless Mizzou keeps playing so well, which I happen to doubt.

In Mizzou we've finally found a team with a non-conf schedule worse than ours.

NoVA Buckeye's picture

Which means we must beat Indiana by more than they did.

Even on ESPN they said that there is basically no chance for a 1 loss SEC in the title game.  However, I think that a 1 loss Alabama will get some backing no matter who they lose to or who is undefeated.  That is just the way it is now.

btalbert25's picture

Things are setting up nicely for Ohio State really. We just have to continue to win ballgames.

I have to say though, I want NO part of FSU at all.

They're the real deal, that's for sure.

Still have plenty of games left to lay an egg in. Probably next week against NC State.

I would rather play Bama than Oregon or FSU.

I personally want to play whoever is considered the best out there.  That way, all the hype will be on the other competitor.  I would be more nervous if Ohio State was being glad handed or slither tongued by the tinkling heads.
Fact: We only secured our most recent crystal football when we were being disparaged in the media, and by the other team.
It is a good thing to be the underdog for us.  It has a higher percentage of success than when our praises are sung, as we are all so painfully aware.
And there is no way that Ohio State is given the oddsmakers' nod this year.  No matter who we come up against, we will be at least 3 point underdogs, if not 7 or more if our defense doesn't gel.  But guess what?   This defense is not bringing the sky down.  It is learning.  I know the production is not what many of you want to see, but the end result hasn't failed yet.  (ah, so much in that little word...yet)
Each team in our Big Ten schedule has broken out the playbook treasures on us.  We do get everybody's best shot, if not just to eliminate that annoying streak of wins.  This puts our young defense on a sharper learning curve, knowing themselves that they are not elite, yet (that little word again).
The critical thing is wrapped up in this.  The Buckeyes do make good halftime adjustments.  Even without Roby in the second half, the stats were diametrically opposite to the first half.  I, for one, am excited about this.  Urban Meyer does do another thing very well...and that is making adjustments.
I was amused at some of the comments during the game ...and had to laugh at some guys, like, calling the game.  I mean, one guy says "hey I'm callin it now.  We lose" (paraphrased).
Like...wow, never stop cheering for the Bucks!  I've seen peole write that they kinda want us to lose one game somewhere and have a better chance in the Rose Bowl...
ARE YOU FREAKING NUTS???
We should not be afraid of anybody!  Anybody!  Anal ists can be as anal as they want...I want to see this and next year's Buckeye team line up across an opponent with the National Flippin Championship on the line!
OH...and I'll say it myself...IO!

Nice. We sat in front of some goons who literally yelled 'it's a stretch play every time', and 'fire fickell' all first half. They shut up in the second. I really am in awe of some fans

I like football

D-Line and Armani Reeves were tortured in the first half (Reeves in the 2nd as well) but they did get better as the game progressed.

Drops to 3-2 in SEC East.

I think you meant to say SEC West

Look closely, because the closer you think you are, the less you will actually see.

Nobody does less with more than Miles.  He is one of those coaches who can recruit, but not manage a game.

ChazBuckeye's picture

But they're still ranked in the top 15!  WTF!  How can they do that when the others GA and FL dropped out of the top 15 and now out of the top 25!  I swear OSU needs to play Bama! That way all the mighty SEC talk can be put to rest...it's over due.

Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry.
