A Look at Ohio State Commit Parris Campbell

Parris Campbell is a three-star athlete from Akron who's pledged to Ohio State's 2014 class. Today, The Cleveland Plain Dealer took a closer look at him, his career and his relationship with his mom, Shelly Woodruff, who he says "is everything to him."

Campbell has wanted to play for Ohio State since he was a child.

His biggest breakout came in December in the Division III state championship game against Bellevue in Canton. With Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer on the sidelines, Campbell rushed for 168 yards on 14 carries and scored three touchdowns in the Irish win. It capped a 1,353-yard and 28-TD season.

The state title performance helped lead to a scholarship offer from Meyer, which Campbell accepted in February.
