I think this game is big for gaining momentum for the end of the season and the tournaments
If Lenzelle has a bad game, we will not win. Let's see if DT can get going early. He has been starting off slowly.
Should be interesting to watch Q vs. Valentine (frosh SF for Sparty). Valentine has been playing really well recently, and has been logging as many minutes as Dawson. I think Q has the athleticism and height advantage though.
Today is an interesting measuring stick, since the game in East Lansing was nearly a win for us. If we can't win in Columbus, it will tend to show that one team is improving as the season progresses, and one team is falling back.

Weird, a guard actually threw the ball to Thomas in the post. So sick of watching L ignore DT in the post, when that is the play.
What I like:
1. Bucks are getting open looks to DT in the post.
2. Also getting open looks on outside (Thompson, Smith, and Thomas).
What I don't like:
1. Already have given up a few offensive boards to MSU.
2. We cannot stop MSU inside / outside game. They can run an offense + have potential to make a huge run at any moment.
Getting beat on the boards 9-4 currently.

Sparty is 5-11, 0-3 from 3, but with 3 offensive rebounds.
Rav can hit that baseline jumper. I think we see more plays to get him the ball away but along baseline. He can drive or shoot the short J.

I have no idea how Lenzelle Smith Jr. has a D1 scholarship. I'm really sick and tired of watching him shoot.
I think it's a case of misuse / misunderstanding of his role. At the top levels of college basketball he's a role player being asked to star. He doesn't really do anything exceptionally well but he shoots just good enough from outside, is just a good enough defender / rebounder that he provides some value. But there's not another option. Less of LZ means more LQ. Want that?

Last Bucks possession: Thomas jogs down court. Stands and watches. Never touches the ball. Then drives and misses a layup next time down. I get that he's their best scorer. Why not attempt to post him up EVERY SINGLE TIME??
Disagree with slowing it down. DT needs a seat because he looks tired, but they are playing a 300 lb man. We need to play an up-tempo game to win. Just need to stop taking stupid shots and turning it over (L especially).
Remember that sequence if we end up losing: Bucks up 3, Smith misses terribly, Bucks steal, MSU steals back and hits open 3, Thomas misses layup, Sparty hits circus layup. BAD stretch.

This trend, more so than being incapable of scoring, will kill this team in the B1G and NCAA tourney.

Not asking for 25 minutes. But there's some times, like the end of half in-bounds play, where it never hurts to put another shooter on the floor. If the Bucks can't cover MSU down low, what does it matter if you play a shooter with poor D skills? Smith, Ross, and DT are are no great shakes on D + 2 of 3 are liabilities on O.

Aaron Craft should come off the bench. I'm sorry but his offensive game is atrocious. Amir Williams should have his minutes stripped- he can't do anything right. I'd rather have Trey than Amir.

That's a gross exaggeration. Agreed craft can't shoot but he does EVERYTHING else. Amir struggles quite a bit but a great game from Trey is an average game from Amir. Trey won't make many mistakes but he doesn't change the game in any way.
I actually disagree with you on Craft. His offense and defense has regressed. He's still a top 10 defender, but I don't think Shannon Scott is that far off. I think our offense is held back when both Scott & Craft are on the court. With Ravenal and Craft coming off the bench, they could provide a spark.

I really hope that Matta has the team intensify their defense in the 2nd 1/2. All 5 players pressuring the ball and cutting off passing lanes. A full court press if we're trying to come back also.
So everyone assumes DT leaves after this year, why? Because he can leave and bank a year of salary, OK. What's his ceiling in this year's draft? Early 2nd round at best? What skill does he have that an NBA GM will say "We MUST have that guy?"

I think Craft's best game was earlier this year against Michigan at home. Scored and made life miserable for Burke. This is a very solid game though.

Not when I lived in Pandora OH which was near Benton Ridge and plays in the same conference (BVC). Liberty Benton is the high school named after Benton Ridge, Liberty Township, and Eagle Township (Mascot). It is not a town. It is its own school district. Benton Ridge is the town.
Maybe Aaron lived within Findlay's city limits but still went to Liberty Benton H.S.? That is possible. Or for simplicity he may just call Findlay his hometown.

Thanks! I never knew that. The location of the schools must of been annexed by Findlay at some point after I left that region or they may have built new schools within Findlay's limits. Strange since I think McComb, Van Buren and other schools around Findlay still maintained their identity meaning McComb HS is in McComb, Van Buren is in Van Buren etc.
