I didn't even notice the faces. This is fantastic and it's setting the stage for the night. I'm expecting HUGE things tonight.....and I'm already drinking to lower those expectations.
Let's go Bucks. Beat Minny! Whoever drew those pictures, two thumbs up.
Looks like Aaron needs to shave.
WIBUCKEYE
Let's go Buckeyes!! I'll be on the elliptical during this whole game even tho im sick as helll.. usually brings luck!
Foul city.
WIBUCKEYE
9 fouls in 2.5 minutes
Both teams are going to have every player foul out if this keeps up...
LOL at the pic
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
What movie is this from. I know its Samuel Jackson as Thomas but I can't remember the movie he played in where the pic originated from.

I have a personal policy not to downvote anyone's comments. You are really, really pushing me here.
That being said, it's this.
Movie was Pulp Fiction...
Well, Della Valle's getting his chance. Here we go.
First two possessions he lost his man on D and gave up a wide-open three (which missed) and on the second allowed his man to get an offensive rebound. Settle down, kid. Deep breaths.
And gives up a layup next off the inbounds. He better knock down some 3s or open it up for Thomas.
Yep.
Minnesota in the bonus at 14:30 of 1st half. This officiating is totally different from most Big Ten games this year. Touch fouls all over the place.
The rest of the team won't pass to Della Valle. Sad.
Sanzere is a joke.
Wow, Scott was on his man for 7 seconds and didn't get a call.
Both teams in the bonus at the 12:55 mark. Yeesh.
Does anybody feel like Lenzelle picking up two quick fouls was the best possible scenario for this team? A win / win. He gets to sit and watch for a little while + ADV and Ross get some much needed court time. Hopefully he comes back in the second half and lights it up.
Ross's 1/1 turnover/minute ratio is making this an iffy proposition.
Agreed. After a few Rav turnovers I thought "Time for Amir". Then I remembered how awful it is to watch Amir. The duo of LQ and LZ are no different. After five minutes of one you can't wait to see the other. Repeat. Repeat again.
+1
I was very happy to see the Lenzelle only played 11 minutes tonight. He has played himself out of a starting position and it's time for Q and Scott to start eating up his minutes. He'll be a great 7th man off the bench, although at this point, I'd rather see ADV.
This is not a good team.
WIBUCKEYE
Craft is shooting like 6% on wide open 16 footers for the year.
I think you're being too generous there. He's solid at driving the lane, but his jump shooting is turrible.
Upvote for u.
No, I didn't look up the stats but Craft who is my hero,is shooting like poop.
What's new... too many turnovers, bad rebounding, Craft missing open jumpers. It's sad because we have so much more talent against almost every team we play, but we just cannot put it together.
This place is dead.
NEW GOAL: to account for half of the comments in this open thread.
ACHIEVEMENT: PENDING
We're here, trust us. I just think half of us have turned the game off because it looks bad. That being said, go Bucks!

I know the majority will not agree with this, but I really do blame Thad on this one. He needs to get this team together. I'm not asking for him to get fired or anything outrageous like that, I'm just sayin.
This team is showing no development. Out of control, not playing smart. Maybe it's a conditioning thing - the tough BIG season's taking its toll.
9 turnovers by Minnesota in 12 minutes and they're only down 3.
Thad needs to push someone in the chest to get them fired up....
Layups...seriously...
Seriously.
Thankfully Minnesota is bad.
Sam Thompson is super athletic, but he's not very good at this whole basketball thing.
You just described, like, half our regular rotation.
Thad Matta must have the patience of Job. How does he not go ballistic at least once per game? his team just missed 3 layups in a row then gave up two offensive rebounds on the other end.
6 offensive boards given up already.
Bad shooting, bad rebounding, is there concrete on these shoes?
WIBUCKEYE
I've never seen big men get stripped more going up for a layup than this year's team.
Does Jerry Lucas have any eligibility remaining?
No inside presence. Aren't Amir and Ravanel at least supposed to get those rebounds? Let's see what McDonald can do!
Those people putting up #1 need to put them down. I don't have enough digits (toes and fingers) to describe our ranking.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
You have 3 missing toes??
Lol, I see what you did there. Just saying, we aren't really the #17 team in the land. I need probably another hand or two to give us a fair ranking.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
Rough night so far on the offensive end. Defense has had lapses but is much improved.
Can we go 2 minutes without a foul? Geez
McDonald boxed out his guy!! Then gets burned by Big Boy Walker. Baby steps, Buckeyes. Baby steps.
I think we should spend the rest of this weeks practices boxing out
There are bigger problems.
There's chemistry on the defensive end. None on the offensive. Biggest problem. And hardest to overcome.
I'm seeing the a lot of the younger guys playing with confidence. Tonight, though, this confidence is resulting in missed shots and turnovers. The good news is that they aren't playing afraid anymore. I'm loving Scott and Thompson shooting the ball, I don't really care when they miss, love the confidence. Smith is playing with confidence as well. Just have to get the leaders to take over and the big guys to toughen up underneath.
The effort is certainly up. The executions, unfortunately, aren't any better. Good mixed with bad. That along with Thomas going over 20 might be enough to beat the Gophers. Not any time better.
I think we are executing, just not finishing. But I agree, it's the most important part of the execution. We're getting great looks, good movement, just not hitting the shots for one reason or another. In basketball, you just have to keep it up and wait for your turn. I look at Minn., and I don't think they've been getting good looks, we're getting beat down low, but other than that, they are making tough shots. We aren't making easy shots. I'm pretty happy with how the half went.
I see we decided to catch up to minny's turnovers count.
Time for an ass chewing at halftime. Man up boys!
WIBUCKEYE
Our big guys fall over upon contact. Terrible
Random but BTN keeps referencing 11 turnovers, gamecast by espn shows 9. So what is it?
Holy $hit we don't call timeout to set up a late play and we finally score at the buzzer for once. Imagine that.
Perhaps Thad's been hanging out in old West Liberty, WVA. A great read from Grantland about their coach and his non-micromanaging coaching style: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8959324/college-basketball-scoring-p...
Good last minute-plus for the good guys... Hope it continues into and through the second half!
Tom Crean listens to Nickelback...
Need to teach Ravenel how to time a jump as a start to rebounding.
More ass and arms he'd be fine. Big enough body to throw around a little more.
the basic flaw here is that if the cosmos were in proper order,we would see Amir Williams and not Ravenel and Ravenel is doing a much better job .... so dang, dang.
Ugly but okay. Win the second half here men.
This is some ugly basketball. Come 8 o'clock the Cavs game is being put on, at least I can watch Kyrie Irving dazzle.
Hopefully he can put some moves on somebody like he did during the rising stars challenge.
20 seconds and another foul.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Deshaun Thomas.
Rav and Amir have both left the angle underneath open on out of bounds plays. Bad.
Wow are we losing by 38?
Just awful officiating tonight.
Tank.
No, Tank you.
Ravenel might get drafted.....by Hollywood.
What are you talking about?
all he does is play for a foul. He falls over all the time, trying to sell any contact. I'd prefer someone like Sully that just plays through it - and that was exactly why Sully was so good.
edit: To succinctly answer your question: he's an actor.
I 100% completely disagree. He got wrecked on that rebound. Not to mention a 100 moving screen calls.
you don't see him look at the refs everytime something happens to him that isn't good?
Well if that is teh point to your case then an actor isn't what you mean. And yes i did see him take that charge. He's guarding a big boy.
Did you see the sideline official on the charge? Was calling a block. I just wish he'd toughen up more. Maybe he's toughen and just takes a beating, but why always look to the ref?
edit: That was an incredible play by him though
Minnesota is a worse version of us...they don't have a deshaun Thomas.
Please don't say that with this much time on the clock!
Good evening folks. Just watched the first half in ffw on the dvr. Did I miss anything aside from the Craft buzzer beater?
Many, many, many, many fouls.
Legit calls or weak sauce?
WEAK SAUCE!
Overall it was sloppy on both ends, IMO... The most excitement was the last minute and a half or so for the Bucks. Minny was good at turning the ball over in the first half, but only partially b/c of tOSU defense...
Tom Crean listens to Nickelback...
4 weeks till the NCAA tournament. Hopefully someone besides Deshaun develops a jump shot or goes on an extended hot shooting streak.
YOU GUYS.
Craft's sideburns look great.
Also, I'm drinking.
hahahahaha
This is possibly the most boring game ever played. 2 teams who aren't playing at a high level. Exactly the opposite of the scUM game a week or two ago.
I'm not sure Minnesota makes it to 45 points. Up a 14 with 9:00 left. I'd call this a safe win.
in all seriousness, I have been switching back and forth from the Pens/Flyers game, and there have only been four points scored in like a 6 minute span from when i switched channels, is offense that bad today?
Yes, it really is that bad. I've seen jr. high school girls games with more exciting offenses.
We're getting some really open looks, but we're not hitting at all. Finally, DT is hitting, but he wasn't in the first half.
You watch hockey and then complain about a lack of offense??
Deshaun Thomas is the man. Without him, we'd be near the bottom of the BIG
Super Bump.
You know we're going to win...the game isn't on CBS
^ This!
nice defense.
Q with the block??
beautiful defense and transition
My ideal possession does not involve watching Ravanel shooting a fadeaway from 15 feet.
As bad as our scoring is, Minny's is worse. Wow.
Jim Burr is terrible.
damn refs, throwing their whistle clips on the court.. WTF!!!
You guys are all praising DT and I came on here to criticize him. Am I still the only one who thinks he forces too many bad shots? I appreciate what he does for us but I just feel like our offense has no chance at a developing a groove when DT is seeing red.
A DT bad shot > an open look 15 feet out for anybody else.
Think about your alternatives:
28 games and we need to "develop" our offense?? No. Thomas is the only proven scorer we have. If you'd like to score 40 a game we can limit him to under 10 shots and spread it around....
Without Thomas, we don't have any offense. Dude can shoot, I don't care how many he misses, he'll eventually score and kick-start the offense. I don't know any other player on the current team who can do what he does.
I understand what your saying but I disagree. He shoots a low percentage, and no one else takes 15-20 shots a game. With 15-20 attempts I think numerous guys on this team could score 10-15 points a game. And to the other comment, I didn't mean developing an offense. I know we don't have one of those. I just mean we lose all rhythm when DT isolates 2-3 possessions in a row. I won't object to his 15 shots, but they need to come in the flow of the game.
I'm with ya. He forces about 4 shots per game imo. I would much rather Thompson (lately) or Scott (tonight) step into a confident jumper.
He's shooting 46%.
Which is skewed because he shot very well early in the season.
He also draws the most attention by opposing defenses. And I don't see anyone else going 7-11.
If you want to stand faithfully in his corner, that's fine. I'm just not going to make excuses for him. 38% field goal percentage in the last 6 games coincides with when we started struggling. I know teams focused just as hard in him earlier in the season. It's like he flipped a switch back to freshman DT.
Great win...just what the doctor ordered! I'd like to see Deshaun get a little more efficient at the offensive end. He's by far our best option on offense, but he needs too many attempts to get his points. If he would drive to the basket or post up more, I think he would still get 20 a game but it would be on 10-12 field goal attempts per game. I think this could be a huge benefit for him and allow the offense to have a better flow.
I never want to hear "Ravenel with the fadeaway" again in my life.
said the same thing when i heard that... turrrrrible
If any of you aren't willing to admit that we are getting after it defensively tonight then i don't know what to say. Talking about Jr. High girls games c'mon man. I think this game is fun as heck to watch with all the hustle on D.
That's what I'm talkin bout
Yes!!! Finally
now this is some good defense
SEND IT IN JEROME!
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
The Gophers are like the best team Jim O'Brien never coached. They're playing about as well as they can, but they don't have B1G talent.
Lots of positives so far tonight, leaving aside Amir still being MIA.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
I'd add all our bigs are MIA.
Shannon Scott's night.
Shannon Scott looking good!
This rim hates Minnesota.
That same rim hated us first
That rim was so mean. :-)
I seriously think Minnesota is taking a dive. This is getting into statistically impossible awfulness from the Gophers.
Wow, 8 points by Minnesota in almost 14 minutes this half hahaha
Wow, 13/13 FT. That's a difference maker
WAY TO JINX HAHA... I'll take the tunover margin also
For a PG, Craft doesn't shoot FT's well.
Neither does Rondo.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Please look up his stats on this, thanks.
Trey at the 4? Hmm.
I mentioned this in the "future basketball rosters" thread.
edit: here's the thread
http://www.elevenwarriors.com/forum/basketball/2013/02/looking-ahead-at-...
First time I've seen this team with any sort of consistent energy since we played ttun. Well played boys.
McDonald and Williams in together - that's new.
Ugly win. Keyword:win.
If I were a neutral observer watching this game, I would want to bleach my eyes.
As a Buckeye fan, I say: WOOOOO.
I say WOOOO back.
Scott's line tonight looks like Craft's used to his Freshman and Sophmore year.
That was all that was left that I needed.
Amadeo!
Hard not to cry....
2nd half domination.
A WHIRLYGIG OF EBULLIENCE!!1!
Finally!!!
I'm hoping ADV develops into as lethal of a shooter as Diebler was.
always good to get a win. Was not able to see the entire game, but what I did see what riddled with great defense from the bucks, so I have memory of this game
I think I found a new favorite player to replace Craft upon his graduation. Amedeo!!!!
I'll take it
GREAT EFFORT
lets build on this
I'm a friend of thunder is it any wonder lightning strikes me
Super Bump. I'd be able to tolerate losses if they at least put an effort like this into every game.
Scott's first time in double digits in a B1G game.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
Della Valle is fun to watch. The kid has a high motor. His development will be fun to follow.
This is really just a reflection of how bad Minnesota is. We played better but not great. Turnovers, boxing out, some bad shots...enough things to work on before Sunday.
Aahhh...just what this team needed....a beatdown of another B1G bottom feeder.
Ame-frickin-deo. He is a blast to watch. Want to see him do that in meaningful minutes but nonetheless. Good win.
by the way, I LOVE the thread picture, that is awesome
Kansas and Okie St. score only 12-11 with just under 9:00 in the first half. There seems to be a lot of these low scores this year.
Congrats to Alex Rogers on his 2,000,000,000 performance. #clubtrill
