Cris Carter was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame as part of the league's class of 2013

After getting snubbed for six years, Cris Carter, the second-most productive wide receiver in NFL history, will finally get a chance to slip into the most prestigious, yet ugliest yellow blazer on the planet.

Carter was elected to the NFL Hall of Fame Saturday as part of stacked 2013 class that also includes Bill Parcells, Warren Sapp, Larry Allen, and Jonathan Ogden.

Though he started his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and played one season with the Miami Dolphins to end his career, Carter was most known for his 11 seasons as a Minnesota Viking. During that time, he was an 8-time Pro Bowl selection, honored three times as an NFL All-Pro, and was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.

Carter finished his career with 1,101 receptions for 13,899 yards and 130 touchdowns. Known for his amazing hands, Carter retired with two seasons with at least 120 receptions. At that time, every other player in NFL history had combined for just three such seasons.

A native of Troy, Carter went on to star for Middletown High before arriving in Columbus to play for Earle Bruce and the Buckeyes. While in Columbus, he was coached by a young graduate assistant named Urban Meyer and as a freshman, he set a Rose Bowl record with nine receptions for 172 yards.

Congratulation to Mr. Carter, owner of the finest set of hands most of us have ever seen. All he does is catch touchdowns and get elected to Hall of Fames.

I great day for CC, he deserves it. Also a bonus that Art was stiff armed, it would have been a shame if he was immortalized just hours from the city he betrayed.

Way long overdue and only took so long, because all the Hall cares about is Super Bowl titles and if he had one, he would have been a first balloter. Congrats Cris, might have to break out the Intellivison that we used to battle on.

Congrats CC!!!! well deserved

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

About F*cking time! I'm celebrating with CC. I hate that he wasn't a 1st ballot HoFer. This guy is the 2nd greatest WR of all time as far as I'm concerned....and that's just because he didn't have the longevity and situation to win rings/HoF Qbs that Rice had. CC was the most regularly ridiculous WR I've seen during his time in Minnesota. It just sucks that his past issues hindered him and that he never won a Super Bowl. But for the seasons he was focused and on his game I never saw a better WR ever.
A toast to CC. This was one thing that always bugged the shit out of me. I'm glad it's over. Drinkin' to you tonight, CC.

Its embarrassing for the Hall of Fame that it took this long for one of the top 5 receivers ever  to get voted in. When are people going to learn that Super Bowl titles are a result of a TEAM effort and should not be a defining individual stat.

The Hall of Fame is a joke in all reasonable aspects. 6 seasons? The others listed like Warren Sapp are several notches below Carter. And Jack Lambert was more loud than good, and a fraction of the player Gradishar was. That bum Elway was in immediately, and Gradishar was left out. Even the worst (homers) Bronco fans I know admit ( I lived their for a decade) Gradishar out is a total joke and shows the Hall of Fame means little.

One of my biggest memories of CC was when he was let go by the Philadephia Eagles.  I was living in Philly at the time and Buddy Ryan the coach cut him because "All he did was score touchdowns".
