Does penn st. have moxie on the basketball court as well?
Matta tapping the ball back in bounds to Williams, and then acting like he didn't, is great. Any advantage I will take but I am scared if we need it against Penn State.

Sam Thompson! Two straight field goals! He looks like an actual basketball player, not just a fast break dunking machine. If he could only do this against good teams, we'd be in great shape.
Sam had to figure that shot out eventually. He takes that baseline jumper so often.

Rav is giving us the best minutes at the 5 by far. Glad to see Amir has rebounded okay this game. Rav is the best big defender we have and the best rebounder. He isn't great offensively, but has a decent mid-range jumper. He gets minutes because Amir disappears at times when he is on the court.
He's decent on defense but that's it; he's got no game on the offensive end at all.

I like the way Trey looks in the post on offense. His screens are clean and he is an active mover whereas some of our other post guys ten to stand and watch a lot.

Sorry, but Ohio State isnt a top 20 basketball team till they learn to shoot the basketball aside from Thomas.
we should surely be up a couple of 10-spots right now...i just don't get it with this team. No real presence down low and a lot of situations of driving into the middle of the lane and going up with no real plan. frustrating.

Oh sure they are; but I agree with you that our shooting is terrible and we need an inside game as well. There is no team out there that is head and shoulders above anyone else right now. The Dukies get blown out by Miami...and when was the last time that neither Carolina or UK was unranked??

Why are people so down on this team? We are up 11 on the road, with Thomas spending a good portion of the half on the bench. Thompson and Scott looked good shooting the ball, and our defense and rebounding was excellent. I know penn st. isn't a good team, but is a 22 point win on the road (current pace) really that bad? I agree that we struggle offensively at times, but am encouraged in the improvement I've seen from Thompson, Scott and Q this year.
Should be a total blowout...playing to PsU's level.

I'm with you Oregonian; I see this team getting better; albeit slower then we all want but as long as we stay solid on defense we can play with anyone. Part of it I think is that we've been somewhat spoiled by success; I mean 20 W's every year is pretty dang good; I don't care who you are.

Did anyone see Williams play in HS? Was he physical with offensive post skills then? Or a terrific defender in the lane? Are fans' expectations inconsistent with the player he's always been? Expecting Amir to be Sully-Lite is perhaps as foolish as expecting KG to be Mini-Brax. Two guys with two totally different (and clearly one it superior to the other) skill sets.
There's no dominant big men in the NCAA this year. If Slam Thompson plays like he has today and Lenzelle stops being a turnover machine--the Bucks will have a look at the Big Ten title and a top 3 seed. If not, it's a 5 seed and a Sweet 16 ceiling.

Jesus, Lenzelle takes some terrible shots. Multiple times today he has passed up open threes to take a dribble and take a contested long two-point jumper, a.k.a. The Worst Shot in Basketball.
Does he shoot a higher % from 3pt than he does on 2pt jumpers? I feel like he does.

Still would prefer the coaches playing our best ball handler when we know a press is coming. I know they are worried about Scott's FT shooting, but good lord.

TTUN hasn't beat anyone this year. NC ST is ok, Minny is decent but both teams are struggling at the moment. Our five point loss @Duke is better than any of scUMs wins. I predict they lose this Sunday and give up the #1 ranking after having it for a week.
