we had rough start to Big Ten play during the 2009-2010 and used a big win at Purdue to get things back on track. Hoping for a solid win and gain some momentum for this weekend's game vs. that team up north.
I remember that game very clearly - I watched the first half at work on campus and got so frustrated because Robbie Hummel kept making 3's, left to walk home at halftime, and by the time I got home we had made a game out of it. It was our season's turning point thanks to Evan Turner.

It's always a tough place to play, time for this team to show a little toughness and resiliency
This is a big game. I really hate to say this (and yes it is a bit premature), but if OSU can't win games like this one, they are going to have to fight to even get into the tourney. Can't rely on just beating Penn State and Nebraska and then using the B1G's strength as a crutch to get in.
I think tOSU will win, too. Although, Matt Painter is a great coach. Guy really understands the game, and always comes with an excellent game plan.
This will definitely be an interesting game to watch. I hope we can turn things around and Matta and staff have lit a fire under our guys, but you never know. Right now, I want us to be good enough to get into the tourny.

I'm really enjoying watching Scott this year. Last year he was timid and just tried not to make mistakes. Craft is an excellent teammate to learn from and you can tell that Scott has taken that to heart. He is flying around much more and creating plays on both offense and defense.
The stripes are cute, but, seriously, the refs are letting the crowd make more calls than them.
Concerned about defense, don't see us shooting 65% for the game.

I really like craft but he is playing way too tentative right now, at least scott is aggressive and fearless on the court. Scott makes things happen and still doesn't turn the ball over, Thad needs to find a way to better utilize craft's skill set and craft needs to be more agressive on the offensive end like scott is. I really like how scott pushes the ball up the court and I wish craft would push it more often
Craft has always been a bit of an offensive liability even before he would shoot.

They haven't exactly been shutting good teams down with him in there and Scott is an above average (on the verge of great ?) defender.
valid point, it's tough because he is great on defense but not aggressive enough on offense. Now I'm not saying I want him to aggressively look for his shot, but aggressively push the ball up the court and push the envelope to get his teammates easy points
The good: Scott, Thomas played really well. Q started to be more aggressive offensively. Thompson had another highlight dunk (what's new?). Defense and effort much better.
The bad: Amir turned it over and didn't rebound well.
The ugly: Smith? Rebounded well (6) but good lord. Struggled on both ends. Turnovers (11) way too many for a half.
Ugly: free throws.
Much better performance overall than expected .... One of the better halves put together with contributions all around.
Scott stat line....4/5/5 in just under 15 minutes.

He just needs 25-30 minutes a game. Starting doesn't really matter a la Craft 2 years ago.
One other observation: Q and Sam are both very capable of getting into the lane and scoring easy buckets, but are often too quick to pass the ball right back to scott/craft. I think (and hope) that Q's finish to that half will help him realize that he can be very good at getting easy buckets when he's aggressive.

I disagree, they have been incredibly consisten which is really all you can ask for. We just refuse to learn not to reach on each shot or drive.

the big got him with the body they could have gone no call and counted the basket, but there was contact there for sure. Craft is smart enough to take the ball into the defender and create contact. Offense always gets the benefit.
