Georgia tries to become Gene Chizik's final SEC opponent, Oregon will try to put up Nintendo numbers on Cal (and they will) and the ABC primetime matchup features Manti Te'o going against a Jim Bollman offensive line. Should be morbid.

TOOTING MY OWN HORN HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ONETWENTYEIGHT ON 5 NOVEMBER 2012 - 1:54PM #
A&M will probably beat Bama. Bama's D is a paper tiger riding on its invincible MEDIA reputation. LSU's atrocious 74th ranked offense and their half-competant QB (who all their fans hate) rang up more yards than Bama, more 3rd downs, 3rd down conversions, and just about every since offensive stat instead of the final score (this being the Mad Hatter decided to go riverboat gambling for some reason). If METTENBERGER can put up 300 yards on this D then Manziel should have a decent shot at knocking Bama off.
I hate this "eye test" stuff. What does it all even mean, "this team just "Looks" better"?. It's all conjectural BS. Look at what REAL evidence we have: Bama's D played a bunch of cakes until LSU and then got EXPOSED. Yea McCarron is better than he was last year, but that ain't saying much. Game manager QB with a great O Line and some good backs. Sure, that makes a good team but it doesn't mean Bama is unbeatable.
The last great QB bama played who was anywhere close to Manziel's level was this guy called Cam Newton. And they lost. After surrendering a 25 point halftime lead. AT HOME. So Don't be shocked if it happens again.
Plus they took them out of bama's base defense which can cause mismatches(i'm guessing that bama's 4th and 5th corners aren't as good as bama's linebackers are). Upset for the ages and probably the game of the year. I agree with you though and frankly it is now Oregon's national title to lose.
HAHA, its funny how the announcers never had a gripe on Alabama's defense all season until bama was down 20-0 in the first quarter against A&M. All of a sudden they say bama doesn't have that go-to guy on defense and how its a 'team defense' and thats why they are loosing, give me a freakin break! If bama's D was crushing A&M in the first quarter and getting sacks and INT's, etc it would have been 'its a team defense, they don't need a big-time star to dominate non-sec (type) teams'. I'm disgusted by the announcers this year and their unadulterated perversion toward Alabama, the SEC, and Notre Dame! Every time I see it on TV, it makes me sick and want to vomit all over the announcers' collective faces and post it on U-Tube as "three announcers and a pissed-off B1G fan and a cup"
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
We need to take care of biznis these last two weeks. Haha Bama
Fantastic!

Also, it's a good night to be a Ted Head. Go Bears!

Yikes, holy purple. I'm pulling for Kansas State, I really think Bill Snyder is a great coach who deserves a championship.
That is indeed a LOT of purple.

If you didn't like that purple monster, maybe this one will do it for you...

Anyone else cheering for MSU against LeSU?
/Duff'd It
Mississippi is likely the worst state in the union, but I cheer for alll of their football teams every Saturday.
It's not quite the same, but it makes me feel better that a Saban coached team, an overwhelming favorite, lost at home near the end of the season. It's not revenge for Saban beating the Buckeyes in 1998, but I like the fact that now he has to feel that. Of course, unlike 1998, people will probably make some excuse for Bama being in the title game.
Any one else read the drivel over at BSD yet? That guy whines more than my dogs before the get fed.
Why the hell has the ND-BC game been hyped up so much by ESPN? BC is 2-7 and 1-5 in the ACC....
It's because a Bollman coached offensive line always equals excitement. Or wait, maybe not.
Yep, this is a real primetime turd.
I am jealous of K-Sate'a shiny pants, they actually match their helmets, like ours used to.
This game is so bad that Herbie is allowing anyone in the booth to pass time.
What a year NOT to be in the bowl hunt.. :(
Part of me is glad, I don't think we would win against some of these other talented teams, and we don't need to get into another title game and get blasted. HOWEVER, getting to the game and giving Urban a month to plan for it does have me intrigued. He's probably the best big game coach out there.
Anyone still on here watching Oregon?
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
I am, this has to be the ducks year right??? I hope so, I think they deserve it.
I think they've got the best offense in the nation without a doubt. They're an exciting team to watch. And they're rocking the emerald green helmets tonight which I love.
Barner and Thomas are scary fast. And it's also scary that Mariota is a RS Freshman.
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
I agree, Thomas is going to be quite the pro.
There are a lot of great young QB's out there. Mariotta, Braxton, Bridgewater, and Manziel are all guys we'll be hearing a lot about the next couple of years.
One common trait with all of those qbs that you mentioned is mobility. I wouldn't be surprised if a pocket passer or two gets added to the list at some point in the future as well.
I think Bridgewater is pretty much a pocket passer. Today, was his 2nd highest rushing total of the season. He had 17 yards. He only has 1 rushing TD on the year too. 2 of his last 3 games he's been over 400 yards passing.
Eh, he's quick though right. Good point though.
I think he's capable of buying himself some time yes, but he's had 4 games with negative rushing totals. I know sacks figure in to that, but he's not really a running QB like Braxton or Manziel. He's not the typical drop back pro style pocket passer either, but he definitely isn't in the same mold as Braxton or Manziel.
I'm watching them right now too. If they are going to lose why not have them lose to a team the Bucks beat!
Good point BT - tough task tonight for Cal but they're looking pretty good so far. Can't say I'm rooting for them, but you can tell they're pumped right now for the big game.

Wow! Just getting back in and Cal is tied up with Oregon. Go Cal
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
I would normally root for the underdog, but I'm dreading the thought of ND playing for a national title. My allegiance for the rest of the season is:
1. Buckeyes
2. Ducks
3. Wildcats
I'd love to see a close game though tonight to have something interesting to watch late on a Sat. night.
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
Agreed. I can't see Notre Dame beating USC anyways, but as long as there are 2 undefeateds out there the BCS computers will keep Bama out.
Barner goes out with an injury, and Oregon has another beast to fill the void.
I think its only a matter of time here before they just wear down Cal.
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
Maybe Barner isn't that good if that's the case and he's only benefiting from the system...
/Duff'd It
True, good point. I still think Barner's really good, but Oregon's system is definitely set up well for that type of back.

But don't forget, DAT is Snoop Lion's favorite player

With that endorsement, how can you fail!
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
I don't see why that BC dude is smiling after starting a fight... you lost the ballgame! Must be Bollman's coaching...
/Duff'd It
Ducks getting banged up. Cal looks like they're avenging some Nobel Prize for Science snub from the early 2000s: guys are laying the wood.
They almost upset them a last time they were in Berkeley. Kind of a sleeper game.
Cal is just trying to slow play this game as much as possible. Reminds me of a story my dad told me from when he was a high school coach. The team that was coming in one week had an amazing all-league back, a D1 recruit in an area that rarely has any. They were blowing teams out and the back was averaging like 250 yards per game. One of the coaches, the night before the game, "accidentally" left the hose on after watering the field. The feild was pure slop by the time the game roled around. The back only ran for like 80 yards and they only lost by 4.
Ducks could be in serious trouble if Mariota's injury is significant at all...
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
let's go cal bears, baby! this sure would be helpful!
Mariotta out now. This game could be interesting beyond the final outcome.
I always hate seeing players of his caliber getting injured, especially this late in the season with thie much on the line. Hopefully nothing too serious, but the way they were looking at it made it look like a dislocation.
Not sure they can run the table without him...
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
You hate to see it but it is a product of the system. Something we have to worry about now as well. Can't remember the name of their heisman candidate a few yrs back that got hurt late in season. Every game Braxton gets through healthy is a big relief for me.
"I'll fire when I'm god damn good and ready! You got that?" - Pete "Maverick" Mitchel
True, watching Braxton leave a number of the games this year has been tough. Luckily for us we've had the smooth moves of Kenny G to fall back on instead of Bauserbomb.
Hopefully Braxton continues to grow as a passer and doesn't have to rely as much on his legs. I think he will, and will become the true definition of a dual threat QB. The 2013 Buckeyes are going to be nasty.
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
Completely agree. I think Braxton has a bigger build then some of these other dual threat qb.
"I'll fire when I'm god damn good and ready! You got that?" - Pete "Maverick" Mitchel
Dennis Dixon?
/Duff'd It
Good call, nova. To lazy to look it up at this hour!
"I'll fire when I'm god damn good and ready! You got that?" - Pete "Maverick" Mitchel
Wouldn't it be great if after the smoke clears bowls n all, osu is the only undefeated team? I would have a big smile on my face thru January!
"I'll fire when I'm god damn good and ready! You got that?" - Pete "Maverick" Mitchel
Tedford clearly hasn't learned that his kicker sucks
/Duff'd It
I'm liking Washington State's unis tonight. The gray jerseys and pants look good with the red/maroon helments.
Unfortunatley for them, that's all that looks good on their side tonight.
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
If Cal had any kind of QB they may have a shot in this one. Their QB is horrendous
Staying alive. That was a pretty solid drive by Cal.
"I'll fire when I'm god damn good and ready! You got that?" - Pete "Maverick" Mitchel
Playing without their QB and their best WR... gonna be tough on Cal...
/Duff'd It
Bollman's offensive line was good for a solid 53 yards with 2.3 per carry. The QB had -14 yards on 8 carries. I didn't see the game, so I will assume they gave up a few sacks.
The nation only got a taste of a Bollman-type O-line tonight. BC won't fully get an understanding of that feeling until he's had a chance to misrecruit for several years in a row and fully down-coach any halfway descent talent they pull in. Too bad that opportunity will never happen considering Bolls won't have Tressel to protect his job and he'll likely get fired after this year. At least now Bollman can mask his ineptitudes on the SEPARATE ENTITIY that is the offensive coordinator. On a separate rant, I appreciate Tressel for everything he's done over the years, but the Bollman situation was and always will be inexcusable and the beloved, revered, venerable Tressel should be charged with the crime of croneyism and henchmanism for allowing the good people of the great state of Ohio to be put through so many years of Bollman's misery.
"Get him a body bag, Yeah!"
Well done. You deserve a trophy.
