Sully went up for a dunk from 5 feet out last night. He ended up 6 inches below the rim! the foul was a big part of it too but it was funny to see him go up hard and not even be close. He knew he was going to get fouled.

If you're picking an 11 seed that went 0-8 against ranked teams this year to beat the Big East runner-up that beat more ranked teams than anyone else in the nation, you have nothing to root for.
Yes, but all the ranked teams Cincinnati beat were from the Big East.... and the Big East is perpetually overrated.
And right on cue, Texas goes from down 19 to only down 3. Just missed a three to tie it, and Bearcats look tired and sloppy. Hook 'em!
That makes no sense. Texas beat nobody this year. Period. If you picked them to win, it's just because you don't like Cincy. If you're a Buckeye fan screaming "Hook 'em" you need your head examined.
Actually, I picked Cincy in one bracket and Texas in the other. Hedging my bets since the Big East has completely ruined my bracket with their early exits the past two years.
And wow, thou art a hostile little man. I have no animosity towards either team. In fact, I'll say "Hook 'em" all I want because the Buckeyes rarely ever play Texas in any sports and don't really compete with them in recruiting, and the Texas fans I met when we played them in '05, '06, and '08-09 were some of the collest and most knowledgebale fans I have ever met.

UC may have had good wins, but had horrible losses as well. So while they were capable of beating some good teams, they were very capable of losing to teams that are worse than Texas. So, yeah you can look at that game and say UC could lose without hating UC. I mean is there a team in this tournament worse than Presbyterian? Xavier, who is a 10 seed by UC by 20.

And my point was only that wins in the Big East don't really mean too much because the conference has consistently underperformed in the tourny the past two years (as highlighted in the Skull Session today). That's why I hedged my bets and had one bracket with Texas winning and the other with UC winning. I only wanted Texas to win today because that's the bracket that's currently performing better right now in my pool (albeit by only one game... and now with Bama losing, both brackets are even, both tied for second in my office pool right now).
I actually like UC, as I was born and raised in Cincy and currently reside in downtown Cincy. My dad went to UC, as did dozens of my friends. Their fans get on my nerves sometimes, but so do Bengals fans (whom I openly admit may have the worst fanbase in the NFL) and yet I'm a Bengals' season ticket holder (Section 114, Row 15). It's a Cincinnati thing. People here have a lot of pride in the city, for better or worse.
I don't hate or love UC. I actually hated them when Huggins was there because I just don't like the guy, I cheered against pretty much any team Bobby Knight coached to for the same reason. Anyway, I think people spend a lot of time making tournament picks based on who a team beat but they completely ignore who beat the team. Don't get me wrong, I'm not winning pools every year, but if you look at FSU's schedule, they have a lot of losses to teams that just weren't that good. Same with UC really.

There are a lot of Ohio State fans that don't like UC basketball. There has been bad blood between the two programs for decades.
Sheesh, looking at this comment and the ones below, it looks like you may need to lighten up a little there bud! You're right, Cincy should beat Texas every time, and if it wasn't called March Madness I would have went with Cincy as well. But I love the 11 seed over 6 seed upset pick especially when the 11 seed has a player as special as Jacovin Brown. And it ended up being a good game as well! Bottom line, upsets that "aren't supposed to happen" are tenfold in March and Texas over Cincy was one of my upset picks. I was almost right. It was a really fun game.

In 2010, when 1 seed Kansas and 3 seed Georgetown went down early in our region of the bracket, we thought that had punched our ticket to the Final Four. We all know how that turned out. You can't have that mindset regardless of what happens with Florida State!

well last night proved should be concerned about any team in the tourney. They all did something to earn the trip there. But I still believe FSU is the biggest concern as well as Syracuse even without Fab Melo.
Plus in 2010 OSU lost to Tennessee. That was a team to be concerned about so I am not sure what you are getting at?
In 2010 a lot of Buckeye fans (and maybe even the players) thought there ticket to the final four was punched after 3 seeded Georgetown lost to 14 seeded Ohio U (comparable to if FSU lost today vs. the Bonnies) and 1 seeded Kansas lost in the 2nd round. I'm not too sure we were concerned we were actually going to lose to Tennessee. I know I sure wasn't, and a lot of other Buckeye fans weren't.

true but since we are all in the bracket challenge, we all like to talk about all of the games, not just the ones concerning OSU. but if St. Bonnies does end up beating FSU, that does effect OSU. FSU is a challenging team. They have earned the right to be concerned.
yeah im in the tourny challenge too. but the way i see it is just as you mentioned. every team deserves to be here, so as far as looking ahead for ohio state, there is no point. each team will pose a threat in different ways.

I picked St Bonneventure simply for the fact that FSU is the most over rated 3 seed I've seen in a long long time. They have a couple good wins, but a lot of bad losses. FSU may come out on top, but this is not a team to be terrified of, and I think they are showing that today.

I still stand by my position that they are an extremely over rated team that barely squeaked past a team that wouldn't have had a bid if they didn't win their crappy conference's championship.
