Here's over 60 minutes of footage of Urban Meyer speaking at the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Clinic at the Easton Hilton last Friday.
It's the same session in which Meyer responded to coaches upset about his recruiting practices by saying he had "nine guys who better do it again and do it a little harder next time." That statement fired up a fanbase fresh off a decade of senatorial articulation, but as it turns out, Meyer had much, much more to say.
He gets things going with an Earle Bruce meets turtle joke, expresses his desire for guys that will choke you out after losing a game of checkers and goes on to cover a multitude of topics -- all with passion and a flair for colorful language -- before imploring the coaches in attendance to "make the great state of Ohio even greater". Honestly, all that was missing was Meyer dropping the microphone and exiting stage left.
Could this man be any more different than Jim Tressel?

11W Never Sleeps! Awesome. Looks like I'm going to be taking an extra hour and 3 minutes on my lunch break tomorrow...

I think I love him. I'd run through a wall for this guy. He has the FIRE. /holds stereo above head outside Urb's home, plays Sloopy.
Back to sleep 4 me. But now I'm motivated to out-teach, out-recruit, out-scheme sleep. O-H!!
I-O! Yeah this is where I head during my sleepless moments these days. I gotta tell you...I started watching - got tired - but still couldn't stop. I am officially a fan of Urban Meyer & his fantastic potty mouth!!! Good night/morning.
Still holding...
There is going to be a lot of turnover in B1G coaches in the next 5 years. Meyer is going to improve the competition big time.

I have to say with that statement alone, it brings more Buckeye fire and juice to a mentality already high enough in response to those coachs that not even Jim Tressel being clearly pissed off could match mentally.
Wonder what the coaches that were used to Tressel speaking thought of coach Meyer after that talk?
I think you could ask the same of fans (and probably get a similar response).
LOVE IT!!! You don't think those high school coaches are stoked to be a part of this program!!! Urban's open invitation to call, stop by, participate in the program and new newsletter - he is going to lock this state down more than Tressel did and that is going to payoff for Buckeye football big time!
The turtle story was hilarious - although I have to say Earle is more of a crazy bastard than I had originally thought!!!

Man I am so excited about coach Meyer!! I love JT but Urban couldnt be more different!! His aggressiveness is something we've lacked for many years!! GO FUCK'N BUCKS!!
I picked up a quick mention of a wide receiver that Urban stopped recruiting because his first step after catching the ball was to step out of bounds instead of putting his shoulder down and bashing a defender for additional yardage - I wonder if this was a reference to Davonte Neal?

Thought the same thing.
Yes I believe the reference was toward Neal.
I really hope that High School spring ball in Ohio is implemented. The Southern states all have this and I agree with Urban that is a big step forward.
Careful. You don't want to send the state's baseball coaches into another fit.
you're assuming those guys are even awake...

Not familiar with the details on HS spring ball - what does it consist of?

They're just referring to a period of supervised spring practice like NCAA football has. Last year it was proposed for a two week period and the OHSAA turned it down (again).
"Dyin's easy. It's livin' that's hard...". ~Josey Wales
Thanks! Perhaps Urban and company can exert a bit of influence in that area to help them understand the impacts!

The team has a lot to learn from Meyer and the rest of the coaches. I hope they can progress quickly in taking all the great information they receive and turn it into competitive excellence...winning games on the football field. Fans, give the kids a little slack. They have a new system to learn. It won't happen overnight, but I know it will happen.
I thought it was really cool how Meyer said he still carried around a Buckeye in his pocket while coaching at Florida.
Very obvious why he is back in the game. That kind of intensity isn't for the broadcasting booth. Dude is enthusiastic.
vacuuming sucks
He gets "it".
Can anyone picture JT saying "What the shit" & "Holy Balls"? :)
There is no doubt that Urban gets it on a very high level. His passion is contagious. B1G is officially on notice.
Also, thought the newsletter was brilliant.

As I watched the video I had to rewind to make sure he said "Holy Balls". Awesome. It is nice to see intensity form the HC. Tress was great and I still love the guy, but this is the shit. I'm so jacked up right now I can't even stand it.
